Unfortunately for now, I am a lazyarse since I haven't even started my design :P. I will have the "dead" sides being dark (except maybe the planets closet to the large star in the middle; solar system, and a couple lava-filled interiors) but Boos, along with lava, will not be used often.

I thought I remember someone else wanting to make a design for this but IDR who.

I've got a design now :

You start in a medium-small half dead planet with regular enemies on one side and boos and other dead things on the other side. After a little exploring, you find a
switch that cause a vine to sprout. When you get on the vine it leads to a small planet where you have to kill all the enemies in order to free a luma. The luma
transforms into a sling star that lets you go to a medium water planet. After a little exploring you find some stranded penguins and the Toad Brigade. The leader of
the Toad Brigade is relaxing, but when he sees Mario , he tells him there is monsters in a planet close from there and is trying to find a way to get here.
Underwater there is Star Chips you have to collect in order to advance to the next planet where you have to kill boos with light. After doing so, those blue star hold things appear and lead to a boss with (Dark) Bouldergeist. Once you beat him you get a Power Star.

I imagine Still-Life as several plants strewn around a small star with very simple design.

This is world 5, we don't want simple designs. And that's really short and boring anyway.

Sorry I'll try to think of something better.
AND by simple design, I mean the planets.

Unfortunately, I will be posting a design this June. And Agent us right, it does sound boring. I'm thinking of planets that go beyons the half-alive, half-dead theme.

For example, one of the planets could be like a rectangular prism with rounded edges, like a small ciabata bread roll. The side facing the star in the middle if the solar system has a beautiful garden with Undergrunts, Pokey Heads, and spinning spike traps. The other side, the one that is facing away the star, is cold (but with no snow). Lil'Brrs are wandering around and it sepearted from the other side via glass ring (that Mario will have to long jump or backflip above) around the edge of the planet.

Not only that, Dark Bouldergeist isn't going to be used in this galaxy...

Yeah, I am not going to include in my design. Instead, it will be more like a Gusty Garden/Good Egg-type level. Something else to note is that I won't have it like Battle Belt or parts of Boulder Bowl.

Edit: Since Season Cycle may have a solar system, shoukd this galaxy have a Solar System as well? Also, would Glamdozer fit here or not?

Nothing was ever said about it having a solar system ._. I don't even know where that came from. And no this doesn't HAVE a solar system, it IS a solar system. Still-Life - using the sun in the middle to effect planets.

Thanks for the clarification. I must have gotten something confused :P.

Only three planets (including the star) will have lava and possibly only two planets will have ice in my design but none will be Freezeflame planets to keep things original. I am going to try to add a couple more new life/death combinations in my design.

I'm usually not a designer, but I have a huge interest in this galaxy, HRE are you still willing on making that design?

Well, his signature says that it's 20% complete, so I'm guessing that he has started working on it :P

He told me he is. Just to confirm it. But if he doesn't get it done, blarg.

So, what are we doing with this galaxy? It seems that we have a good concept, but what about actual development? I had suggested a restructuring before, after all, "opposite galaxies" have been pretty overdone.

Judging by popular opinion, I'd say that Still Life will be the first to go if someone has a burst of creativity and we use a new level in the project.

I had suggested remaking Still Life to be a manor filled with twisting halls, puzzles, and many secrets to be found. The manor could be filled with paintings and sculptures littering the walls and halls. As for the manor itself, I was thinking that the interior could be built similarly to Peach's Castle. This would be a much more relaxing galaxy, with little to no enemies to be fought. Just puzzles and secrets. Now I'm just waiting to see if anyone is on board with this new idea.

LF posted this in the Season Cycle thread but personally, I think it'd fit better here, since it fits the theme we had established for a while with the solar system and the sun and etc.

Here goes some brainstorming from the IRC channel.

On this Galaxy, the main planet could be based on a compass, in which each cardinal direction would represent a season, relative to the lesser planet they were pointing at. As a transportation method, the Sling Star might feel a bit more appropriate. On this setting, there could be a silver star hunt, and still on the center planet, there could be a structure the player would have to climb to ultimately reach the fifth one, which could resemble both the Stonehenge in design and the Buoy Base tower in platforming.

What could also be done is have objects with two opposite surfaces Mario could walk on - each with an unique season too, and the gravity inversion gimmicks from Flipsville to switch between those sides. For this specific scenario, maybe a bunny chase mission might be set up, but how it would handle the gravity issue still remains a mystery.

I feel like it'd work a lot better in Season Cycle...We could do so much more in that galaxy.

I agree with this. Also, the fact that this galaxy should have seasons in its design makes it somehow even less creative than before. It's a good idea, but it really should be in Season Cycle.

NWP didn't mean carry over the season aspect, just the compass idea. Even so, I also agree it'd work better in Season Cycle.
