Okay so I spoke to Glem3 If this project was still recruiting as I would love to do some texture art for the project and, in short, he said I was welcome to. However, I don't really see a solid list of anything specific that needs doing so my question is what exactly SHOULD I start making some textures for?:) |

Texture artists are of course welcome, though what we're really short on is people who can proficiently apply textures to models. ____________________

nah, we need artists just as much. IDK, we mainly should be working on figuring out HUD stuff and world maps and etc. We need to design that, and maybe if something comes up that needs a new texture, then you can work on that. But I would start by familiarizing yourself with what all is going on. We do have a logo, but not much else xD One good thing would be making some sky backgrounds. preferably repeating since it'll have to wrap around and etc.

I'd gladly learn how to apply custom textures! Are there any guides around explaining how to texture hack the game? (Replacing HUDS, sky boxes etc.) |

Well I would probs be one of the main ones editing the HUD, you'd be making the images, I'd edit the positions and animations in the files in layoutdata. I have all the layoutdata stuff extracted somewhere, but that's only the pics. First we'd have to design the HUD and such and then remake it. As for the skies, you'd be working with, say, a 512x512 image, and you'd make a repeating texture for it since it will only cover 1/2 of the sphere, so it'd repeat once to cover both sides.

Posted by NWPlayer123 Well by guides I just sort of ment something explaining where the texture files are and how to replace them:) EDIT: I whipped up a couple of trial backgrounds, They do sort of lack inspiration, but it's honestly because I'm not too sure what im designing them for XD They'll be better once ive been given specific themes and ideas. I also drew up a new sort HUD theme, well kind of. It's a very early design but I quite like the simplicity and fell it fits galaxy's mood! I'll just leave them here anywho!

O,O holy ship. That's awesome. I especially like the second one, it looks so cool, especially if it was a background for an underwater level like Aquaflame, if the hue was edited to be a darker blue. Those are some really nice backgrounds! I hope your stuff looks good ingame (the game's backgrounds had multiple layers that moved, not simply a single repeating picture. If we can figure that stuff out, it'd be awesome if we could do stuff like have the bubbles move.) ____________________

Thanks guys!:) and yeah the mario head I just used as an example!XD the in game icon was too small to fit on my HUD! If the HUD is ever used I'll happily redo it at a smaller size!:) |
