Well Ive decided to start trying to orchestrate stuff and I started with Super Mario Galaxy 2's unused Beta Song 3 (Bluegrass Galaxy). I would say that this is a work in progress but if anyone has any opinions feel free to tell me.

Here is the link:

Sounds pretty nice

There's one near clashing note at the beginning though

Its sounds ALRIGHT. The soundfont is sort of outdated. And you should also upload music so it can be played - (Youtube, Soundcloud, Box, even our own uploader) instead of making us download it.

I recommend soundcloud or youtube

Most accessable

Here is version 2. I removed some of the clash at the beginning (I will work to fix that) and i added a few new instruments to make it sound more complete.

I don't like the song itself (I've always disliked the Bluegrass Galaxy music :P) but it sounds like you've got some good soundfonts to work with. Perhaps they're not integrated in such a way that they sound realistic in this particular piece, but I could definitely imagine the same soundfont in something very convincing as a real orchestra! Also, I really like the spacey synths during the loop :3

Time for version 3. I know I am doing this a little too much of this in one day, but It doesn't take long :P. This time I think this version has a little more energy, similar to the synthesized version. I am probably not going to add more to it unless anyone has any ideas.

By the way I can orchestrate stuff pretty easily if anyone wants me to. Its easier for me to do it with sheet music or maybe even a midi (If you already have an idea) but I can key things out as well if necessary.

Yeah, I think the third revision is the best. I wuv the synth tho, it adds so much more xD
It's good to have fast prototyping because there's a lot of music that still needs to be done and finalized. You do have a great soundfont though, one of the better ones I've heard. We really only need to find a place for it, and I remember hearing Glem talking about it on the IRC so it's getting some consideration.

Yeah the program I use is quite unique. (and expenive may I add) I would be glad to orchestrate any song needed, but it would best be from a MIDI, as even this song here was converted to midi (quite easy really, this surprisingly came out well)It took me a day to do this, but It would normally take much less, if I werent out on holiday

Another thing - its awfully quiet, which may contribute to my dislike for something. The volume is an issue that needs to be fixed.

Here is a louder version. I sometimes forget to turn up the volume. My ears are very sensitive to loud noise.

Now that I compare the synthesized and the one i did, the beat sounds a bit off :/
which is better?

It could definitely use more "power" in the main melody, but for the rest it's really nice! :)

Version 4: (hopefully) Adds more power to the meledy by adding points that the brass gets intense and the softer areas get a lot more flute. I am beginning to like this a lot more and would be glad to have more opinionj. I am really hoping for this to be a success.

I still miss the really loud trumpets, but I guess you need a real orchestra for that.

Although I'm not really that music reviewing type of guy, but I actually really like this remix. Keep up the good work!
