That's why I put minigame in quotations. :P
Basically, they would just be walled off areas with a "long range text bubble" NPC explaining how to get the coins.
Yeah, there would be a 100 coin Hungry Luma.

Though Glem wanted just a linear challenge, like just a few rides floating around to platform on. IMO kinda boring, but oh well

IMO the 100 coin star SMS throwback should be a secret star, like it would be in SMS. Normal, Secret, Comet.

I agree. This is begging for a 100 coin star, and it'd be new. It'd also make this galaxy a good place to farm coins, like Fluffy Bluff in the original SMG2.

Mario Sunshine throwback? Do you mean something like Pinna Park?? What I get from that is a Hungry Luma who wants 100 coins and becomes a planet that bears resemblance to Pinna Park.

Well Pinna Park is what this is based off of, so it makes sense...
the planet it spawns would be something totally different, probably just have one objective to do to get a star.

Basically, there would be more than enough of these minigames for 100 coins.

Yeah, there would be a 100 coin Hungry Luma.

Things like cannon shooting, snake blocks high up...
This would actually be just a smallish section with no way to die, just a fun throwback-ish section before the huge main attraction. Because, if Mario could die, the coins would all be lost. Well, at least not any bottomless pits or crushers.
It'd be kinda like a floating small carnival/theme park.
The original idea was to make the Hungry Luma make a Launch Star to an unopened rollarcoaster with Dash Yoshi.

Not sure if he'll insist on that being the whole level...

I normally hate collectathon missions but I'm in favor of this over linear. An amusement park is the exact opposite of linear, it's a giant place to explore!

Is the Dash Yoshi rollercoaster still going to be used?
A cannon shokting Snakeblocks high into the air? Maybe instead is the "elevator of doom".

The beginning section could be like Pinna Park's entrance on the beach but with bottomless pits.

This is late and all, and probably won't be implemented, but how about we put a slide in, like Tall Trunk Galaxy's?
It could be small, like the snowy one, and maybe one of the challenges would be going down it :P
Just an idea

IMO we should use Silver Stars instead of 100 coins (I hated the coin collection things).

My idea for Star 1 is basically Mario starts on a main planet that acts as the park's enterance and also holds the beginning of the Solar Coaster, but in Star 1 it is closed. There are five different paths Mario can take (each by a different means: Sling Star, Launch Star, Pull Star, Warp Pipe, Cannon) which are all made up of smaller planets with one ride each on them, and these would act as platforming challenges.

Each path leads to a "minigame", and each rewards you with a Silver Star. Then you get back to the main planet and take another path (for the la
Launch, Sling, and cannon paths you use another of that object to shoot you back, for the Pull Star and Pipe paths you work your way back). The Power Star appears back on the entrance planet.

So then Star 2. The coaster still unfinished, but Mario hops on Yoshi and uses those flower-things to get to its top.

Not much track is finished, half the time you are given to use a Dash Pepper is enough to reach its end. But a sign points Mario in this direction. So Yosgi eats the Pepper and dashes to the end and sees a Bulb Berry!

(Yes, you can use both at once, there was a video on the old SMG2.5 forum.)

So now Yoshi must eat both Peppers and Berries to stay on this coaster. However, in Star 3, the Purple Coin Comet, the roller coaster is finished and there is no need for Bulb Berries. But now there are many obstacles.

So that's what I thought. I have no minigame ideas ATM but I'll try and think of some.
