The main reason why I want to have things be approved before being furthered is so I have an overall idea of what the game will be when it is done. For times when I'm gone I'll try to work on guidelines for approving levels so others can do it as well.

Reasons for this include:
-Prevention of an idea being overused and therefore making the game redundant
-Making sure each galaxy is a new concept and doesn't feel like a direct copy from one of the other galaxy games.
-Making it easier to know what has been done and what hasn't.

I agree with you 100%, Cosmo. Those three reasons you provided are the very notion of why designs need to be approved first.

You don't need approval to fix those problems, and in terms of what's been done, why would we consider an imperfect design something we've done?

The design needs to revised before being approved. When it becomes approved, it is understood that the design has been revised and edited. Then, the design will not be imperfect, but rather a nice, finalized design

that's my point, which is why approval shouldn't really be a question. once a design goes up for approval it should be fully revised and most people should agree that it's good enough

MC, not everything is perfect first time and what you are describing in your last post is essentially the approval process.
I want to keep the approving system because of the reasons I listed and not everyone gets a perfect design by revising themselves, it is good for others to review it before we implement it such as me, who has lots of designing experience.
End of discussion, we will keep the approval process but I will make some changes to it so progress can happen while I'm away or busy.
