Guys I've noticed a distinct stagnation of progress lately. Modeling in particular is not happening (partly my fault.) But this all traces back to level designs. Until a design is approved, concept art, models, and level creation cannot happen. And since designs are not being approved, largely because those with authority to approve are not active, progress is at a standstill. We need an organized, efficient way of getting designs approved so everything else can be done. Post ideas for effective methods to get designs approved here.

I personally think that the system is fine as it is, but just needs a few more people who can approve of designs. If we allow everybody to approve designs..Well, that won't work out really well. ____________________

Well, firstly we'd need a new list of designs, since MC's one is outdated and he's gone. 
That'd make things easier, and a lot less messier. ____________________ Burrow Base design- Text complete. I might try my hand at some art...maybe...eventually...? Bullet Base design- Final Frontier- (collab) There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train. Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys. |

I've got a draft of who's working on what and which galaxies are available... but I'm not sure if it's accurate.
Furthermore, it will be difficult to maintain so I'm not sure whether it's worth it or not. |

This is going to sound restrictive but hear me out:
On general level design threads, all posts not providing ideas or constructive feedback to ideas will be deleted. Then, once the thread reaches a certain length (say, 10 pages) the thread will be locked and someone must make a design for the galaxy using using ideas in the thread as well as the designer's own ideas. Once a design for all of the galaxy's stars is done, it is posted as a separate thread. All replies not providing constructive feedback to the design will be deleted. The designer uses the feedback to modify their design in their original post. The thread has until 5 pages, then it will be locked and the design submitted for approval by an active administrator. If the design is not approved, it gets 5 more thread pages for suggestions and modification, then it will be locked again for approval. And the cycle continues until the galaxy has an approved design. I think this can be an effective, organized procedure of approval as long as enforcement of thread locking and deletion of unnecessary posts is maintained. ____________________

To be honest, I personally think it is more complex than even restricted. It is pretty "this and then this and then this..." It sounds deadline-like to me and deadlines are usually a bad idea.

Agent, here is my variation of your system:
•The SMG2.5 forums as a whole have two to three local moderators, both of whom are active members who are currently not a Kuribi64 staff member right now. •Any useless/off-topic/flame posts will deleted (it virtually already is like that ).
•Anyone can reserve a galaxy. Both the ideas thread and a user's design thread will be open at the same time. This is so that feedback can be provided both ways. •Eventually, a Kuribo64 staff member, presumably one the SMG2.5 forums' two or three local moderators, will approve the design and lock any threads relating to level design. •There will be a modeling thread with the same methods stated above. •Finally, there will be a creation thread with the same methods as the ideas, design, and modeling threads. __________________________________________________________________________ So there you go. That is my variation of Agent's proposal. Please provide feedback. Can local mods can delete/edit posts in all threads, or just a few specific threads? local mods are different than gmods because they're assigned to a board, and their power only works there.
