But as for Maya in general, I'm SO lost. I need some major help/pointers on how to do...everything. I keep pressing buttons and screwing everything up... XD

It seems to be functioning well tho, I just need some pointers and advice.

And a question, texturing can be done using Maya, correct?

Have you tried Yourube tutorials? And yes, you can texture in Maya.
