You're thinking this through waaay too much
It's literally a giant satellite that crashed into the lake. The power star is in the satellite, and mario must travel through electrified land and water obstacles inside the satellite to reach it

Gill Board? Since it's underwater and will probably have a variety of fish enemies

How much gameplay will there be in the lake and on the shore, and not just in the satellite? There could still be electric hazards on the shore, obviously.

The shore is just there to land on. And no, not obviously.
The sattellite is what is making the electricity in the first place, and it's in the water. Of course it can't be on the shore

Well since this a three Star galaxy, the satellite could have multiple parts that you possibly explore. If Star 2 will be a secret Star, then the satelllite could just be fully explored in Star 1. If there will be a secret Star, could it possibly be in another area in the satellite, or underwater? Underwater could work better though, such as in a hidden underwater cave.

I personally think that, depending on how many ideas people can come up with, that we should either have 1 normal and 1 secret, and a comet, or 2 normal and a secret. I personally think this galaxy could be vast enough to hold a secret star. Possibly even the dreaded word - MINIGAMES.

I think we should not take the Aquaflame route and have one big planet. I'm actually thinking of a more realistic level (like Slimy Spring) where it is simple ground without planets. In this case, it should be a dark, stormy sea (assuming we don't use it for shiprock). I think Shiprock should focus more on underwater caverns, while this galaxy just be more of Simple underwater explanation.

Another thing we could do for this galaxy is a really alien and foreign underwater environment with a large, complex underwater satellite. Sort of like being on Europa.

I've already got this pictured in my head. Also, I agree we shouldhave a secret star. I'm thinking 2 normal stars as well

Yeah, as I really can't picture a purple coins mission going well in this galaxy...

Well even a speedy or cosmic comet would be kinda meh since you're swimming, there's no platforming or long jumps involved. I guess that kinda adds to the challenge but still, I'd rather have a secret star.

Remember how Bowser Jr's Boom Bunker added new stuff in its comet? If we HAD to use a comet (I personally don't want to for this galaxy) we should somehow add a powerup or something.

This is going to have land platforming and swimming :3

Anyways, I just had an idea where you are swimming up a tunnel filled with water. The camera will in 3D like Beach Bowl, Buoy Base, Deep Dark, Super Mario Sunshine, etc. Electrified metal fragments are sinking down the tunnel and you must be careful not to touch them.

The top of the vertical tunnel is the bottom of the lake. A round glass pane blocks your entry, but there is a lever switch that will open the glass cage containing the Sunken Satellite on the lake floor.

You now swim back down to the botton of the tunnel and enter a pipe that takes you to the beach. You can now swim to the bottom of the lake to explore the Sunken Satellite.

Except only the tunnel part and no need to reach the Satellite. In fact, why not have the Secret Star in the tunnel at the bottom of the planet? A Sling Star underwater could take you out of the water, beneath the planet, and into the water in tunnel.

Since this is one of the main galaxies on my design list after project ff, I should probably tell you my general concept, even though I believe I've posted it before.

So, a giant satellite has fallen into a lake. The satellite, being very huge, is only half underwater since the bottom is touching the ocean. The satellite is a big cylinder on its side with large solar panels. The entire star 1 takes place inside this satellite. The goal is to get from one side of the satellite to the other where the power star is. Since its only half underwater, when you're inside the satellite, the water only reaches halfway up. The inside of the satellite is made up of a lot of metal that serve as platforms. They are either above or on the water, sometimes even floating. This means that while there will be some swimming sections, there will also be a lot of platforming. There will also be electric obstacles to fit the theme.

Moving parts in the satellite (excluding things like Amps) would be nice also. A big asterik-shaped piece of metal could rotating inside the satellite.

Little things like that asterisk thing would be a nice touch, to show that this is a huge machine

Huge working machine ;). I don't want to rehash switches, but they could potentially be used to open garage door-like contraptions and what not.

Well don't forget that this thing just plummeted from space into a lake... It's a bit surprising ANYTHING works

Buuut I guess this is Mario, so...

I think it should be a mix of Drip Drop Galaxy, Bonefin Galaxy and Dreadnought Galaxy(the interior of the satellite.).
I think this galaxy has a lot of potential.
It would be great as a hungry luma galaxy.

I was thinking that along with the satellite being so huge that part of it is above water, it could also be in a tunnel-type thing like Deep Dark. Part if the satellite's interior could be sinilar to the final planet that gets covered in Dreadnought's mission, "Infiltrating the Dreadnought". There should still be some gsmeplat outside of the satellite, most notably what I said in earlier posts about swimming up a tunnel with electrified pieces of metal falling down and platforming up ti the satellite to enter it above water.

Edit: Please excuse me if I already mentioned this, bu the bubbles from Cosmic Cove and Honeyhop would fit really well in the satellite's interior.
