Origami. Back in the project's early days, I posted an idea on the old forum about an origami (bird) crane made of metal in Spin-Dig. Obviously, this galaxy uses paper. But if we make the Sandbird-like Sandglider into an origami bird, we could use that in conjunction with the paper airplanes.

If we made models COMPLETELY flat... it wouldnt have a back side to it... we would have to put depth in there a TINY bit.

Yeah, that's what I tried to say. They're paper-thin, not 2D. Meh. I bet some people wouldn't understand that because they still think paper is 2D.

Viewing paper flat makes it 2D. However, it has a edge, which makes it 3D. How thin can a model be before it is virtually a sprite? If it is too thin, the edge disappears.

A model can pretty much be infinitely small so it should be fine.

yeah, you cant change a 3D object to 2D... (but I think there is a button that can) Either way... It wouldnt be hard at all to model this galaxy :P

I just thought about paper stacks; I think they would make interesting platforming with different heights.

Stop trying to discuss pointless things when we don't even have a fucking design.
Back on topic.
I'm still gonna say that it should be like all the Paper Mario games' first worlds where it's your typical grassy galaxy and such. Hopefully polari decides to finish this some day :P

So a long time ago I mentioned paper planes, and it looks like it's gonna happen. My idea is that we make a section similar to that of Slipsand Galaxy, where you are on that rectangle thing and moving forward. We can duplicate a yellow moving platform (From that Bowser Jr. Galaxy) to make it a paper plane. Then we can have it fly over "ink" (Antimatter). If Mario falls, he dies in the ink, and to make it challenging, we can have lots of obstacles.

We can just give a paper plane object a path...

Right?

Yesh, supposedly, since there's a definition for it as an object. However, nobody STILL has tested it xD

Martboo tested the SandGlider bird about two years ago. If you nean setting a path to paper airplane models, then no. If all we do is duplicate a yellow platform and apply a paper model to it, we would not need to test it a lot I believe.

Speaking about testing, thin 3D paper models also need to be tested except there are modeled paper pieces yet. I suggest that the best route to start is to model at least a small portion of codybean's drawing.

No, let's crumble up cody's design

(See what I did there?) :3

Tbh there Are so many possibilities that we don't need too much cardboard

you know, crumbled paper COULD be a planet... If you crumble it into a ball, that is.

Yeah, like a 3d roaming planet. Polari modeled one at some point

I have idea: Putting a large paper Blooper or octopus or cuttlefish or whatever decoration above the inky dark matter. Maybe even use it like a platform as in my fries Blooper idea in Fast Food. By the way, it is dark matter, not anti matter unless it is dark anti matter.

We're all worried about how it will actually work, when we don't even know what's gonna be in the galaxy in the first place.
We need to actually make a design and stop trying to overthink this. It's simple rescaling. Good god.

Incase we do use this stuff we already have a better understanding to use it. :P

You don't need to have an understanding, the creator is the one making it all happen. All you need to know is if it's possible or not.
