I will post my experience with the game tomorrow. I may also give game hints and tips (in spoiler tabs of course). I will also provide my experience and tips of the final boss fight once I beat King Boo.

I saw GameXplain's video of the spider boss and I liked the battle.

You have to light a spider egg on fire using three different methods like a walk torch. You use the flaming egg sack to light a fuse-like spider web strand. It leads the flame to a dynamite web. Each time you blow up the web, the possessor ghost comes out of the boss. You have to vacuum the infinite HP ghost three times to suck into the Poltergust. After you vacuum up the possessor ghost, all of the spiders, including the boss, become good again and you get a Dark Moon fragment. However, the little red spiders still scare the crap out of Luigi, which is hilarious.

Wow ray, I guess that could be called "Malleo's New Mansion"!

I have been playing Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moo and here are my insights:

This game is pretty awesome! One of the coolest features is that in a Vault beneath E. Gadd's already hidden Bunker, you see stuff like like the ghosts you have captured. A ghost list pretty much. The original Luigi's Mansion might have felt short, but the 3DS is not short. I have four hours and thirty minutes of playing Dark Moon Mode and I have only completed five out of six the missions in Gloomy Manor, the first mansion. The spiders look scary when your are playing in 3D, so beware of the spiders!

It is a shame GameSpot severly underrated this game. The "no checkpoints" shouldn't be problem because the game saves automatically after every mission. Also, Game Overing with a Golden Bone causes a Polterpup to take the bone and revive you so that you can continue right where you left off. The "bad controls" is also GameSpot bogus; the controls aren't even bad! Sure, if you're new to this, you might have some trouble with the controls at first, but that is only for the first two missions of Gloomy Manor. After those first two missions, you should get better with the controls.

Overall, I would give this game a 9/10 for what I have played so far. The story is huge, and the game features humor with Luigi's fear cracking you up. I highly recommend this game if you like Mario, and this game is the Holy Grail of Luigi fans.

I wonder, Ive heard that the ghosts lost their 'personalities', like they are just now generic ghost enemies, unlike each unique major ghost in LM1.

Is that true?

Not exactly. Too me, the ghosts have more of a personality. There just aren't any portrait ghosts, thr majority of whom were humans. But the ghosts here are humanoid like the Poltergeists.

Also, the ghosts that possess stuff are called Possessors! I guessed right because I named the Cranky Possessor (the one that possesses the giant spider) Pink Possessor on March 10 or 11, about half a month after the game was shipped to retail stores.

Edit: The Gloomy Manor theme uses some of the instruments that the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy theme uses. That is why the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy theme reminds of the LM games, especially LM2.

Having played through the first 2 mansions and the first of the third, I have to say one thing that stood out to me was how they reincorporsted existing themes from the original game into the music. I also like how they added in lots of little things and polish. For example, in the second mansion when you stand under some water, Luigi does a washing animation. i really like the little things TBH.
One thing I do wish they would have added was a single player version of the scarescraper, where you can have auto generating rooms and ghosts and so you could practice your skills even after all the missions are done. Because having missions be so narrow makes it have not that much replay value. I would want something to the extent of gates to infinity where you can use a camera or something and it makes a map with floors and such.
All in all, playing this got me really excited for when we can finally hack the Wii U so I can start developing my version of LM on it as homebrew. There are so many ideas, and I can really understand exactly how the game is put together.
If I had to be honest though, with everything I know now, I can't stop analyzing every game I see for how it was made, which ruins a little of the mystery. It's somewhat sad.

Another thing I have to ask, is the level layout like LM1?
Like, you have one big mansion, and must search the keys for rooms, etc?
Or here is just different mansions (not as big as LM1), with linear progression?

Tayuya: There are multiple mansions which are just slightly smaller than the one in the prequel. However, six of those slightly smaller mansions means a longer game. Which brings me to my next paragraph...

NWP: You are already in Old Clockworks?! Wow, you sure are fast! I tend to collect treasure in addition to the to-do list (over 4000 G!). I am still just about to begin Gloomy Manor's sixth mission since I started another file to show my friends the game.

I just defeated the spider boss and am starting Haunted Towers. I personally think the spider boss and the Grouchy Possessor are easier than they seem.
