Me neither, I'm still with a heavily revised NSK idea.
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

I think it should actually be nonlinear, divided into areas by theme, with one area being like Whitehot (tons of fire/lava), one having lots of electric hazards, one having tons of enemies, one having a poison swamp theme...etc.
It would be nice to have a selection of powerups between each section (like 3-5).

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

It would only be in terms of graphical style, not actual levels... but I hear you.

I say linear for this star.

Not as blatantly linear as Grandmaster.

I swear, we could have made that one year ago

Perhaps linear but feeling more like an actual ENVIRONMENT... like, what if the level took place on little snippets of HUGE planets, for a change?

Hmm, yeah, but still colorful backgrounds.

That sounds good. Perhaps we could do something like Bowser's Galaxy Reactor did with its planets...

Was that the one that used the cosmic blocks in annoying ways? Or, in other words, the final Bowser level?

The level should start on Good Egg's first planet, with various characters wishing you luck before you jump into the big challenge. The characters could thank you for various things you have done in the past, making you reflect on everything thus far before the final level starts.

What about the Gateway Planet? That was the very first planet in the very first outer space level.

His idea is good except for the reusing planets part.

We need almost all of the NPC types in this.

I remember I once suggested that the entire level could be made in the shape of the letters SMG, with Starbits making up the rest of the words, but so big that the player can only notice that when Mario gets launched up to a really high platform to get the star. It would be a nice touch...meh. Maybe not.

I think that could be a nice easter egg that only the most observant players would notice. Launching high up would be too obvious though.

Well, how about as the last planet, with the star on 5.

I meant, not like an Easter Egg, it should be very noticable, so that the player realizes only when Mario has got past it all. :3
