Look at what I found: A beta SMG1 Bowser Mine which is surprisingly fully functional. When placed in a level, it explodes on contact with Mario and then regenerates. Once we manage to import Beta stuff from SMG1 into SMG2, I say we should definitely use these mines in this Galaxy (or any other Bowser level generally). Traversing a minefield full of these while being shot at by Bullet Bills sounds like a cool idea to me ;) :

Maybe a part of the stage should be running through a munitions factory-full of Bullet Bill launchers of all types, plus a few Undergrunt Gunners. As long as Mario keeps running, it wouldn't be too hard, as they are not too fast and will explode against each other.
It's kinda like the "roomful of Thwomps"- keep running.

OK, Glem's castle was never supposed to have an interior nor be in the hack. The exterior was simply an example of what you can do with the model importer. It would be a "waste" to have the castle in the the background as a Super Bill Blaster. So, here is my design:

Billy Maze (Get it?)
The starting point is on the roof of a fortress. If you try to reach the botton of the fortress, you die. When you reach the end, a Whomp will be waiting for you. Defeat it to make a Launch Star appear.

The Launch Star takes you to a tricky platforming palooza. Avoiding the holes in the grey brick floor is not too hard if it weren't for the Bullet Bills. None of the Bullet Bills in this area follow you; they go in a straight line. You must move in the gaps with the Bullet Bills in order to escape safely.

After that, there is a section with the Flipping Face Thwomp platforms. This time, the Bullet Bills chase you.

When you make it through, you reach an oval metal platform with a warp pipe. [I think Torpedo Teds were imported so...] The pipe takes you to a 2D level that is like the one Super Mario World level and the two New Super Mario Bros. U levels with Torpedo Teds/Targeting Teds. Some Teds chase you, others do not chase you. There will also be regenerating mines with eyes in this area along with plenty of air bubbles. At the end, there is a small square space where the water meets meets the air again.

When you climb out, you are right before a large area with regular mines (no eyes) and Bullet Bills that chase you. There are also two or three spiked Sentry Beams that create shockwaves. After this is the final area.

The final area is a revamped Banzai Bill tower from Bowser's Galaxy Reactor. There are now more Banzai Bills and there are a lot of Bullet Bills that chase and that don't chase. Instead of lava there are gaps that you can fall out. There are disappearing tiles instead of the moving green platforms. Whomps replace the Thwomps here.

At the end is a Launch Star that takes you to the Bowser fight.

That seems rather weird (roof-->walkway-->underwater-->flat area-->tower).
It could be all based on the fortress (it should be a rather simple one, possibly a munitions factory?)
Possibly something like this:
(Taking from HRE's design)
Starting from the roof, where there are a bunch of HUGE Banzai Bill cannons firing 4 Banzai Bills and 4-6 Homing Bullet Bills per shot, plus Sentry Beams (the fortress defense?).
Then a Launch Star to a walkway (just outside a wall), with holes in the floor and sides, with Banzai and Bullet Bill Blasters covering the wall, so that Mario has to duck or jump at regular intervals.
Then the walkway stops, and is replaced with the flipping Thwomp face platforms. It gets harder, as there is now no solid floor. Homing Bullet Bills start to mix in at regular intervals, nearly always exploding before reaching Mario, but causing many explosions to be careful of.
At the end of the section, there is a long drop like that passage in Throwback leading to the Thwomp King. Mario emerges in the back of a smallish warehouse. However, the warehouse is filled with every kind of launcher, so Mario has to keep running, avoiding boxes.
Then emerging into an open area with mines, Sentry Beams and a few Hammer Bros. The open space has many launchers set up near the Hammer Bros., all pointing in the same direction.
Then the Bullet Bill Tower. I'm thinking just a smallish tower with tough platforming, with a large open space at the top to fit Bowser
(his personal viewing platform to oversee the firing range? :P) Then the boss fight.

IMO, escort missions shouldn't be a large part of this galaxy. Just for a few Launch Stars and puzzles and such.

No spring mario in a bowser galaxy, it's fun when it's used right, but when it's used in the wrong place, it is ANNOYING
