"Starting concept" became "Staring contest". XD
Anyway, bee mushroom for the boss? That seems slightly out of place. Maybe powerups could be dispensed with altogether, with Boomsday Machine being fought inside the top of the tower (in a circular space the size of the original arena), with spikes, those grey blocks that move out then retract, and other platforms, like the rest of the level. Like, Mario has to run to one of the 4 lowest platforms, then wind his way along the wall upwards, to where he jump on some floating moving platforms to get to the top of the boss. ____________________ Burrow Base design- Text complete. I might try my hand at some art...maybe...eventually...? Bullet Base design- Final Frontier- (collab) There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train. Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys. |

Plus, isn't it suppose to be raining in this galaxy? Having the Bee mushroom would make no sense since the player loses it. ____________________

That's a thought. I like the idea of having to fight him without powerups, and instead has to climb the wall to reach the dome so he can ground pound it. We could have all sorts of platforms (not too many different ones though).
Also this concept reminds me a LOT of how you fight Kraid in Metroid Blast on foot (boss is basically a giant tower, you have to climb up some platforms to reach his head and damage him).

Meh. Were they even a threat in the first place? Also we can still have clouds, but as obstacles (since if Mario jumps on one he falls through). Hmm...I hadn't thought of that.

Same here, but if Glem decides that this battle MUST involve a powerup then the Bee mushroom is the most fitting one.

Boomsday is actually pretty pathetically easy anyways.. make mines or something litter the sky so that you have to dodge and weave through them. |

Okay, I really don't see how CLOUDS that you fall through are really things you have to avoid. I mean, don't step on them, whoopie...

Ok, I agree with using Spring Mushroom instead. And we have some floating platforms to help you get higher to attack. And I realized you cannot ground pound with Red Star. While your flying, and press Z, Mario will just fall with style. We should use spring not just in the boss, but throughout the level. I will test Spring Mario with Boomsday. I will also probably film it and post it here. |
