So you probably noticed that link at the bottom of the board.

The mobile layout enables itself when a mobile browser is detected, but that can be overridden with that link at the bottom.

The mobile layout is still a WIP. Here's what it features currently:
* more compact board header, with a smaller banner
* more compact forum index page
* more compact post boxes. Those totally aren't Acmlmboard, though. Also, no post layouts.

Here's what's remaining to be done:
* more compact thread listings
* more compact profile page
* more compact reply forms
* filter user-posted images into links?

Test it out. Feedback is welcome.

The mobile layout is awesome. However, the site doesn't switch to mobile automatically. Bug?

What phone/browser are you using? It is probably not recognized as a mobile browser.

Also, thanks :)

I don't think it's necessary for tablets like my iPad because it sizes just fine. However, yeah, a mobile layout would be cool

Perhaps I could remove tablets of the mobile browsers list. However, in any case, you can force the normal layout, just like you can force the mobile layout on non-mobile browsers.

I'm using Chrome for iOS.

Oh. That explains it I guess. The board recognizes the mobile versions of Opera but not Chrome.

If I can find some example useragents, I'll make sure to add mobile Chrome to the list.

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 4.1.2; HTC One X Build/JZO54K) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.166 Mobile Safari/535.19

That's the UA string of mobile Chrome on my phone.

Yes but that's the Android version. What'd interest me is the useragent of the iOS version.

If that's a problem for you, you can also force the normal layout.

Thanks. Support for those has been added. Let me know if it still doesn't work.

Safari 4.0 Kindle/3.0 (screen 600x800; rotate) on GNU/Linux

Wait... Should Kindles be considered mobile devices? ('mobile' meaning 'small resolution')

I think so.

Well, they are 7" big. So i guess not. i think 7" and up are already tablets. Under 6" are phones. Between 6" and 7" are phablets.

iOS should be considered a separate layout from OS X.

Make an option to switch to the normal board version, also.

It's already in. Look somewhere around the footer.

You should really disable the mobile layout for tables...

Compare this to this.

Also, why the heck are the mobile layout fonts smaller? You're not designing a layout for old phones where there's limited screen space, you're designing a layout for smartphones where you have to make it work with a small touch screen with plenty of pixels, right?
