I know there is already a Pokemon thread, but this thread will be about a whole different realm of the world of Pokemon... Competitive battling. Here anybody can talk about IV's, EV's, levels, held items, special ability boots, etc. You can also post your teams here as well!
First off, I am worried that Mega-Blaziken will be less powerful than a life-orb laden Blaziken. Mainly because MegaBlaziken can't use life orb b/c of a Blazikenite. Unless MegaBlaziken's attack is higher than a base 160, he will be WEAKER than normal Blaziken. I am VERY worried about this because the design of MegaBlaziken is just simply fucking badass.  ____________________

anyway, is it a good idea to start a double battle with a pokemon that hurts itself due to recoil a lot and a pokemon that can heal it? I think so but I'm relatively new... ____________________ |

Trust me competitive battling is much more than just...."strategy" (or well actually it's not but the competitive definition of "strategy" is much more complicated). Anyway I don't play Pokemon competitively (since there are no tournaments where I live), but I fully support it and Could probably enter a tournament if I wanted to (because I care about every aspect of a pokemon and train them so they reach their maximum potential). ____________________ Former SMG2.5 Advertiser and one-time Level Designer/Artist - So Apparently Norway is rich while Denmark and Sweden are happy. ok, I'll get a little more spacific:
staraptor and blissey staraptor has double-edge, brave bird, and is holding a life orb. it's really offensive, but it's move do quite a bit of recoil. it also has roost incase blissey gets KO'd blissey has wish (can heal staraptor), softboiled, protect, and flamethrower. in gen 5, wish can prettymuch heal staraptor to full HP, and flamethrower is incase staraptor gets KO'd. ____________________ |

However one thing I can instantly advise is for you to immediatelly replace Flamethrower with Seismic Toss (if it's at least Level 80-100) and teach it Toxic (you can replace protect with it). Blissey's role is as a supporter, Special Wall and/or status spreader. NEVER give it any attacking move beside Seismic Toss and only if it is at a high level. Anyway you can go to www.smogon.com for indepth sets for all pokemon that work the best as well as strategies. STRATEGY: Use a Swellow holding a Toxic Orb, with the guts ability. Teach it Facade, Brave Bird, Protect, and U-Turn. This moveset OWNS. ____________________

 I can't play competitive since I don't have any legal games.
I can only play Pokemon Online if I wanna play multiplayer. 
Well, anyway, I like to use Gengar (Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Hidden Power Fire, Destiny Bond). Although it gets 2HKOed a lot (Focus Sash)(pretty much everything is at lvl 100 since you can set levels) It's moves are devastating against a staller/defensive team. Also....Espeon. Magic Bounce ftw. Spikes, Stealth Rock, statuses, all bounced back. I love to watch the reaction when I switch it in against spikers
Another one of my favorites: Mamoswine. Not gonna win any beauty contests, but this thing can priority OHKO a Dragon/Flying type with Ice Shard and its humungous attack. Jirachi is a great troller if you have good luck. Serene Grace + Iron Head/Body Slam gets you 60% chance of flinching/paralysis. Awesome when you get 5 moves in a row due to flinching <3 Strange one here: Whimsicott. Yeah. What makes it good is Prankster + Encore. Switch this in, people think it's a joke and start buffing up. Priority Encore locks it into buffing up. Then SubSeed ftw.

I never got status-boosting moves. here's an example why:
(assume the Attack does 50 damage but 60 when powered up, and the enemy has 55 HP) ................TURN 1............TURN 2...... Without:.Attack.---.05/55..Attack.---.00/55.KO With:....Boost..---.55/55..Boost..---.00/55.KO unless it can turn 3HKOs into OHKOs, it's kinda pointless ____________________ |

Not really, a bulky pokemon like reuniclus can really benefit from stat boosts. ____________________
