Well this exact theory was made in SMG2. so Idk. I want to keep it, but really, we need a GOOD design for it.

My point is it hasn't been reached to its full potential yet! Really. Out of all the galaxies that need to go, Flarefrost should definitely not be there. It could be renamed, but still. The Fire and Ice galaxies of SMG1 and SMG2 were some of the best, and SMG2.5 can really show off what this crazy combination can do. ____________________

rainblarg they seemed rather plain to me.
I guess people have different tastes. Tricky Truck Galaxy-A vehicular-based galaxy. Not city-based. It has trucks that you can ride on and many hazards (meh).
Ionizing Radiation Galaxy (name can be changed)-A galaxy with nuclear reactors and radioactive materials. Green liquid nuclear waste acts like dark matter and there are radioactive objects like uranium that burn or shock you. There are also gamma ray machines that fire laserbeams (gamma rays). Some of the gamma nozzles may be oscillitating. X-Ray Extravaganza Galaxy (not a copy of Ionizing Radiation Galaxy)-Uses a concept that is most likeky impossible. It has a "backwards" Flash Black gimmick, where the lights are replaced by x-rays. This allows you see through walls and to see Mario and Luigi's skeletons. Once again, it may not be possible at all. Scientific Lab Galaxy (once again, name can be changed)-A Dreadnought/Battlerock level with labs that you can explore. There is a part where you enter a flashing chamber (like in the more modern remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still) and you fly through a glass window with a Launch Star. Taj Mahal Galaxy (meh)-A galaxy with a Taj Mahal-like palace being the main attraction. Maybe even have switches to have it be a Switch Palace. So those are my possible galaxy concepts. Posted by Silver I can easily expand on that idea and possibly design it. Considering most desert levels in Mario games are Ancient Egyptian-based, a Wild West galaxy would be unique in its own right. Time for Western Punk! OK, so a few small sandy planets along with gigantic, open-ended planets that have a town with saloons. Gold in rivers? Trains and Steam Punk? My personal opinion on which galaxies are useless, in order:
1. Fortress of Illusion- Redundant gimmick. No ideas. Definitely replace this first of all. 2. Still-Life- Interesting idea, but nothing's been done on it. 3. Under Over-Not really a good idea in 3D. Meh, nobody'll miss it. 4. Flarefrost- Unoriginal. Unless somebody comes up with a bunch of awesome new ideas for it. (IMO Dry Boneyard can stay if it's made to have a desolate theme, different from the normal SMG ghost galaxies) Okay, people should elaborate if they wanna suggest a new galaxy. :< ____________________ Burrow Base design- Text complete. I might try my hand at some art...maybe...eventually...? Bullet Base design- Final Frontier- (collab) There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train. Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys. |

I've recently thought up another Galaxy idea in case one of the existing ones gets scrapped. This one really just came to me out of nowhere while I was playing Super Mario Galaxy 2. The Galaxy currently has 3 tentative titles, all using rhymes. Either "Thwomp Swamp Galaxy", "Whomp Swamp Galaxy", or "Thwomp Whomp Swamp Galaxy". Either way, I plan to incorporate both of these enemies very prominently in the levels. Being a swampy area, most enemies would either be plants or bugs to match the environment. So, that basically means piranha plants, mandibugs, flipbugs, etc. There would be little to no fog too, as I know that we already have a galaxy built around that concept. I'll provide more step by step details on the stars later, but I plan the first star to be focused around Thwomps, and the second star to focus on Whomps. Is it also possible to edit/retexture both enemies to make them look like they have moss and vines growing on them? I should go over the mechanic with the Thwomp as well then. Thwomps would fly out of bodies of water as you neared them (during a wooden raft section) and then fall downwards as they usually do. I'd like to know if these last two concepts would be possible to pull-off before I gave more details. |
