There's a thread for this somewhere here called "New Super Mario Bros. U DLC" but it's old and the title is outdated. So yeah.

Anyways what did you guys think of New Super Luigi U? I'll give my opinions right here:

Now I bet many are going to think i'm going to say "ITS JUST ANOTHER NSMB REMAKE AND IT SUCKS GAH!!1!1!"

But nope, this DLC is a bit lackluster in new things, even the story and such, EVERYTHING is the same. But the levels are really what changed my mind.

These levels are easily some of the best designed levels in a NSMB game, they immediately remind me of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. I love the emphasis on Luigi's classic abilities too... although I once stated I didn't like how they lazily reused Luigi's running animation for his new jump animation, this move is soooo refreshing to use in this game and it really brings me back to Luigi's altered physics in the older games. The slower sliding might get annoying, but I never really got that angered about it, you will be jumping a lot in this DLC. I also thought I would hate the 100 second gimmick, but the levels are so greatly designed to keep up with this that it wasn't even a problem, it was actually fun! For example, I usually don't like tower levels because they are long and boring, but this DLC makes them fast and formidable, even with the reused boss fights! NSLU is also much more difficult than New Super Mario Bros. U, which is great to experience after so much easy games. I love all the Luigi references they made and all, if you're good, you might even spot other characters that have been involved with Luigi in the past!

King Boo and Mario

So yeah, this DLC would have been pretty bad if this level design wasn't so absolutely fantastic and so fun to play through. Others might think differently between my review, but that's just me.

Also i'm reviewing this game as in SINGLE PLAYER MODE, the multiplayer is HELL in this game. So if you want to lose some friends, step right up to the simulator. Unless you're playing with 2 players and one of them is Nabbit.

8/10

Hoping I can be settled with that score forever :)

Happy birthday Luigi! You will always be so much better than Mario!

hm, so you played through the whole game? Cool. Also, what do you mean with those other characters being in the game? Do you mean in the background or whatever?

Nice to hear that it's a good game.

So this is a dlc, not a new game. Why are people calling it a NEW GAME then? :P

Probably because it'll be coming in a packaged box in August.

What type of dlc is sold as a separate game? Only Nintendo would do that. Always with their innovations and making people's lives easier. Urgh...

Yeah, NSLU looks a lot harder than NSMBU.
