Posted by Nintega DarioHow do you texture hack the Character head sprites that are on the map (The sprites that show you where your character is, like Mario's head sprite for example)?
Those are no textures. They are 2d sprites.

OP, did you make that avatar? Mega Mario's SM64DSe doesn't support editing of Mario/character textures that I know of. When I try to edit the textures of a player object (even with the correct parameters) the editor shows me the star. However, if I can find Mario's palette data and edit the palette, that will work. I'm just wanting to change the colors, not edit the actual texture or anything. Anyone know which file the pallete data is in?
Also replacing the castle tree texture in the US ROM breaks the game. I have a feeling it's a slightly different texture format considering it shows up in the editor, but has some artifacting. |

The palette is part of the BMD file, described in the documentation. If you want to change a texture's colours, just export it, change the colours and then re-import it. This will generate a new palette. |

To texture hack any character you must do this:
1 - Open your rom with NSMBe. 2 - Feplace the tox box test map with the model.( use the wario metal model, mario globe, or a character model from arc0( the character model narc file ). 3 - Close NSMBe. 4 - Open your rom with SM64DSe. 5 - Open the tox box level. 6 - Go to the 3D model option, and select the " edit textures " botton, edit the texture, save the texture, and close SM64DSe. 7 - Open your rom with NSMBe, export the tox box model, and replace the character model with the edited one. finished. i was make a new texture for metal wario with this method. |
