Upsettingly, only 36% of our members are active.
Any way we could fix that? Advertising?

This is a problem with every forum, SMG2.5 has it much worse. As Mega-Mario said, this forum will get more popular when whitehole is released.

Let the forum and its members be.

Advertising at places like GBAtemp might get us floods of derps. However if you really want to advertise the board, go ahead, but keep it reasonable. Signature links are okay. Threads/posts only about the board, or sending PMs en-masse, isn't. I don't want other communities to hate us because someone is advertising us invasively.

IMO that's not a "problem"... NSMBHD has 20% of active users. And pretty much every board has a similar percent of active users :)

It's just what the internet is..

Mine has like 41% active, and that's 49 people.

But I know half that have posted haven't been back in a while.

I would just like to say, the amount of inactive members has increased drastically. Is there something we could do about this?

That is a drastic but meaningful bump. No, there's practically nothing we can do about it. It's because people join and never come back.

Perhaps we should delete some old accounts with no posts...

It wont be a smart move. Ive seen in other boards that users that register and then dissapear for like a year, then come back.

Also the way this forum system works, its not easy to delete users without messing something, so no.

It's very rare that they come back, and if they really wanted to, they should just make a new account. And this should only apply to non-posters and have had practically no activity.

It wont be a good idea still. It would be to hard to delete the users, and actually, they dont affect in nothing, so why delete them? :P

Actually, it's quite common, recently an old user named Maruiki came back.

Why would somebody make a 2nd account...?

Probably because they want to escape from their bad history or something.

Yes. Also, is it possible to see how long a user has been online (total)?

No. There is no such stat.
But something that tells how much an user has been active would be interesting...

Perhaps MM could develop it.

We don't want to be hasty here and develop something that could potentially be a source of drama. I agree with Rarity in that deleting inactive users is not...a very good idea.

Exactly this.

I think that the inactive users should stay.

Same. Why would you want to delete them anyway?
