I second that, but I know that HRET and I will probably never agree with Dego and Anthe about this, so we should stop arguing.

Yup, I DO agree on that.

I'm growing into Windows 8 and find myself increasingly using it. I think I'll still get a copy of Windows 7 to use as a virtual machine, though. The Modern UI is...not preferable, but I'll use it for my purposes.
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

What I think about Windows 8:
+ Better speed
+ The graphics are smoother (more FPS).
+ Free antivirus included (Windows Defender)
- The classic games aren't preinstalled :O .
- The fullscreen Start screen is still OK, but the Search screen in fullscreen is very very bad.
- The new boot menu is weird than the previous versions (it loads the (entire) Windows 8 kernel and the drivers (for compatibility with touch screens), so that if you choose Windows 8, it goes directly to the login screen, and if you choose an another OS, than it reboots the computer!

Also, please don't buy a tablet with Windows RT. With it, you can't execute desktop applications (even if they're compiled in ARM, is it true?).

Did you use the Windows 8 emulator (if you made this screenshot)?

Yes.

And I was using the program: "ModernMix"

Today I saw someone using a tablet laptop with Windows 8!(I think). Windows 8 does in fact look like it would work better on a tablet or tablet laptop. But on something that is not a tablet, it's just... strange.

It works nice on non-touch devices too. You just have to get used to it. (it takes like a day to get used to it)
In fact, I had some issues with using my Windows 7 laptop after I used my Desk Windows 8 for a while.

You're one of the only people who thinks so.

I think it works. Not nicely though... It could be improved, but its fine with me, I got used to it.

Though, should you get used to it?
I mean, this is like saying "You might as well write complex algorithms in Brainfuck instead of C, you'll get used to writing Brainfuck in no time!"

Windows 8 isn't complex?

Whether or not you can get used to it, like Nina said, there's no reason to. Windows 8 hardly gives any advantages, and it's not worth it if you have to relearn something you've done for years.

Lol windows 8 gives many advantages which overweigh you learning some simple skills. You dont have to relearn anything.
Its not as hard as close minded people think it is. Gosh, its just moving your mouse to the right.

Another unrelated thing, companies do what they want. For example, Apple changed their charger for devices, everyone complained, but they got used to it. AND Apple made people pay to get used to it, instead, Microsoft only made you move your mouse a bit to get used to it.

They shouldn't be forcing us to get used to it. What exactly was wrong with Windows 7 that warranted this change?

Degolegodyl

It was shit for Tablets. Microsoft has to adjust to people's tablets.

They got used to it because Apple didn't listen. That's dictatorship, and it shouldn't happen. Blarg. It's like if I changed this board to phpBB and just ignored complaints.

During Summer vacation I'll try Windows 8 on my laptop, when I don't need my computers for university anymore. This way if I break it it's no big deal, and there's always the positive outcome that it'll get rid of all that preinstalled crap my laptop came with.

My opinion on it is still negative though.
