BUY.THE.GAME.NAO! 
Anyway I've currently got 3 stars on ALMOST all missions in the game (I think there's only about 2-3 left), and I also haven't completed the ScareScraper (FUCK THE EU NAME!) Ghost Collection (but I think I have about 1/3 or half of the ghosts as of right now). Then again I haven't played LM2 for a while now since I've been busy with Fire Emblem: Awakening (I've played it for 65 Hours now, and I just very recently finished the story. However most of the time I spent with the game were dedicated to DLC and EXTENSIVE Grinding )

Ok, I've beaten the final Boss. This game really wowed me!!! Still haven't played ScareScraper or got all the gems/boos. My favorite Mansion was Secret Mine. My favorite Boss was the Shrewd Possessor. I did not like the framerate chugging, however. ____________________

I think it's tied for me. The first LM was the best when it came to exploring and when it came to the atmosphere. When you play the first LM you actually get the feeling that you're there with Luigi too. Also the mansion was waay more realistic to me and was... creepier.
But then again the sequel lasted longer, had more replay value and had an awesome online. ad for the bosses? LM1 FOR THE FUCKING WIN! I mean LM1's bosses where actually scary and creative. LM2's bosses were... a spider, a staircase, a clock, a... pile of ice and a huge suit of armor. Basically none of the LM2 bosses were GHOSTS, just regular things. It didn't help that I found LM2's bosses to be easy as all hell. I haven't gotten all the boos. I think I prefer LM2. I loved 1, which had a better dark atmosphere, and better bosses, but 2 was better. The mansions were better designed, there were more of them, the whistling was gone, and the ghost catching was more fun. ____________________

Well yeah, but the whistling in LM1 made the game more realistic, as in rooms and hallways already cleared there would be no music, and the only sounds would be footsteps, the Polterguest and such. If some random music played while you were walking through the halls in LM1 it would be less realistic and would ruin the atmosphere.

It sorta gave depth to the mansions of LM2. The themes were good and all, but it was really the music that sucked me into these environments. ____________________

You have to stand still to trigger it. Also, I finally got the game! I'll say its tied between the 2 games. In the first, you can explore more, and it has better graphics and bosses. But the second has more play time, and better levels. Also more humor. ____________________ Jesus why was I here |

I believe you do have to stand still to make Luigi hum as Luigi#1 said.
Also, I personally think Pld Clockworks' remix of the LM2 main theme actually fits in a haunted laboratory .

Hmm... VERY interesting. The beta Ice Symbol was never known about until now (but I can easily see why they changed it. The Beta Symbol looks retarded).
