Post anything about TV's here!

Possible upcoming TV's:
Auto-stereoscopic TV's? (3D can be viewed at any angle)
Touchscreen Smart TV's?
8K 4320p UHDTV's with 120fps?

Im looking forward to the new 4k resolution.
Im also looking forward to OLED technology. So much can be done with it, for example make ultra thin displays and such. Besides, OLED provides more vivid colors and consumes less energy.

This is the most random thread I've seen lately. I WOULD have liked it if I actually cared alot about TVs :P

Samsung has a smart TV with a camera. You can play Angry Birds with your hand in the air! I think the idea of a "camera mouse" is quite nice.

EDIT: Smart TV=Computer Moniter
Well sorta. :P

Well, i was thinking... I wonder. Should i use a tv or a monitor as a screen for my desktop?

A TV would be cooler in my opinion.

Well, Monitors are made for the user to be near the screen. A tv isnt made for the user to be near the conputer.

BTW, MG3, they are not. Do you have experience with PC gaming anyway?

Aren't many modern TVs compatible for use as conputer moniters now? Smart TV are interesting because you can connect your console to it and the TV itself has games on it.

I don't see any compatibility issues. Only problem might be:
Slower response time from the TV, since the norm for monitors is 2ms, or 5ms.
Monitors have VGA (not used in video cards anymore), HDMI (used both in TVs and Monitors), DVI (not used in TVs) and Pisplay Port.
Here's a pic of the back of a video card, showing the ports:

Minecraft on my television rocks. It sucks to connect all the wires and keyboards and stuff.. but it sure is more fun ;)

I streamed MC with my Apple TV without having to use wires. I should have probably mapped it a USB gamepad because it felt weird to be pressing the keys to move on the TV.

60 years ago, black and white was brand new technology. Does that mean 60 years from now we'll have holographic tv? [or holographic meat loaf. Yum.(get the reference to get a cookie.)]
