I think you meant something similar to SM64. SM3DL' concepts are SMG (SM64) mixed with NSMB. That is why it turned out pretty awesome. With the Mario 3F Wii U, however; I would like something along the lines of SM64 and SMS.

As I said in my edited post above, it and MKU could come out later this year.

It would be cool if there were SMS-like levels in this game, but in the Mushroom Kingdom. I'm talking levels similar to Mushroom Bridge, Moonview Highway, etc.

Most of the games never referenced Mushroom Kingdom. D:
They either took place in a different setting, or just a world map like the 2D Marios'.
A real map would be awesome.

Well since Skelux already made a SM64 sequel (which I personally think Nintendo themselves couldnt have made better, provided that they had the same tools as him and only had ONE person work on the entire sequel :P), and we're making a SMG2 sequel, so I'd actually want nintendo to either do a SMS sequel or a brand new concept (but one that plays and is like SM64, SMS and SMG, not like 3D Land).

Maybe the next 3D Mario could involve Time Travel (Mario's already been across Space, so Time sounds the most logical after that).

Maybe something like Sonic Generations? :3

There actually is fan music on youtube of "Mario Generations". I personally like it.
Time would be awesome, there's so much more that they can do that Temporal can't.

Last view: 2203 days ago 		While SMS2 would be cool, that should be left for the handheld realm. I think just a large, original, and open world Mario game would be best. I would recommend something a little more realistic, yet colorful, but that's just my opinion.

Because of that, it may just be so new that we have never seen anything like it in a Mario game before. Like SMS or SMG1. As for exactly what it is, we can only speculate until the pre-E3 Nintendo Direct.

I think "action game" means a platformer. It is possible that this new gane will be more serious.

Like maybe on of the levels is similar to the early Delfino Plaza from Mario Sunshine Spaceworld 2001 trailer. Maybe one of the levels is the most dystopian society in any Mario game (*Castle Bleck theme plays*).

Also, I am sure the HD will look nice on this game.

Well of course, where else would we put the power source for the grand stars - that blue sphere in the engine room/the beacon in the observatory. I personally think that's the soul of anything. But hm, that's only a minor detail. I personally am gonna still wait until E3 in a week or 2.


Although the game is rumored to release October, I do not expect SM3DU's hub to shown in a pre-E3 Nintendo Direct or be in the demo.

I am really looking forward to this game's reveal. Like with all trailers for new games, expect cool stuff like new enemies, new items, awesome levels, etc.

It looks more like 3D land but with more gimmicks that we don't even need. I want an open world Mario game, not more linearity. Nintendo, please, can you listen to what we want? 3D land was great and all, but I wanted something spectacular from this game. Something grand. Please Nintendo, its not too late to begin a true 3D Mario game.

There was a Yoshi-like Water enemy, as well as a Orange Yoshi that appears to be able to turn into a speed boat.

Actually GIVE THE LEVELS NAMES-New Super Mario Bros. U and Newer did that. So did SM64(DS), SMS, and SMG1/2

As for the hub, I have absolutely no idea.


Lemme just shoot that 'Official in-game level editor' idea down. They don't even make editors for the 2D games. It's highly unlikely that they will include a level editor for a 3D game will all sorts of giant models.


Too bad, because that would have been really awesome. There probably will not even be a Coin Battle editor, as Coun Battle was never in any 3D Mario game and the Coin Battle editor was only in New Super Mario Bros. U.

But they basically are expanding on 3D Land... they won't be able to use open world structure with that kind of camera. And the visual style is very cartoony, to the point where most of the levels feel more upbeat rather than epic, quiet, or dark.

The reactions are exactly like with 3D Land. 50% of people like it, and 50% of people dislike it. I personally like it.

Sigh. Looks like Super Mario 3D World will be an underrated game like Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 3D Land before it. I will have to prepare for gamers' hatred and for reviewers giving out scores under 90/100 like 89.99/100 for a 3D Mario game.


Polari is right. You cannot judge this game without playing. As for the Xbox One, we all that will be a failure.

Also remember that this this the first true multiplayer 3D Mario game since both Super Mario Galaxy games only has Co-Star mode. Also remember that this is the Wii U's first 3D Mario game. The Wii got two so maybe in a few years we will be seeing a true open world game for the Wii U. Possibly even Super Mario Sunshine 2.
