This is one that drives me crazy, sometimes you make a witty thread or something, and next thing you know something has gone terribly wrong, I wish users could delete threads they have made like at SMG2.5

That would be useful, TBH. I think this should be implemented.

Especially during "Post Stampedes" where people are making new threads left and right that they themselves regret making later on.

The only problem is that back at proboards even if you delete your post since it was the first one, it wouldn't get rid of the thread. So we could implement it one of 2 ways, that way where deleting the first post deletes it, or mega-mario could mess with user permissions to allow thread makers to have access to delete those threads and such.

The second one would be more intuitive.

Like Styg said, I'd rather much allow users to delete their own threads, pretty much like how they can rename their own threads.

I could also disable post deletion for a thread's first post.

Yeah. Idk about this. If i interpreted what you said mm right, you would delete a thread but not the posts?
And bad side: if you delete a whole thread that was important?

I'll answer both questions by this simple answer:

Deleted threads aren't actually deleted from the database. They can be restored easily at anytime. :)

So will this be implemented?

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing.

Because having a thread about something, and it gets solved, and then we'd have to wait for a mod to come in and close it, when we can just do it ourselves. Plus, people will continue to post in the thread with posts that aren't necessary (The fuck, autocorrect.)

I never thought about that. Closing a thread would be very useful too. And if somebody abuses it then they can just be banned from the rights :P

I usually leave threads open in case someone has a similar issue and wants to post in the thread. But if that brings too many useless posts, well...

Yeah, it's happened a couple of times already on this board IIRC.

Blarg, it's called the edit post button. It will still show up as "New" on the board after you finish the edit.

And I'm an idiot. But when I edit a post, I don't see the edit on the last posts...

What are you talking about...?
Just edit the post with the youtube link and it will show up as "New" on the page. Easy as that.

EDIT: And why did you post this here in the first place?

That was also off-topic.

Blarg.

Side note: when you edit a thread's last post, the thread is marked as new.
