Didn't the cutscene before the final phase of the Bowser Fight involve getting sucked into the Very Berry Blackhole (yes, I know Bowser was sucked into it at the end, it closed up, and Peach and the Grand Star were freed)?

It could just be made a cutscene.

Or instead, a smaller version of my fiery tornado idea (in the concept art thread) could act like a portal, like in The Wizard of Oz. Of course, it would be a cutscene.

I hope the level design is kind of like Scarecrow's nightmares in Arkham Asylum. Floating platforms are a must.

Not just floating platforms, but destroyed floating platforms! I can imagine a gauntley of those babies leading up to the Bowser door covering up the portal to Bowser's throne.

How about we actually talk about the actual level for once?
Since this is the final galaxy, it should focus on gravigen, and thus, gravity puzzles, since that's what Bowser is using to make all his galaxies and take over the universe.
I think gravity is always nice, and it could be used especially here. We should also use lots of combinations of powerups, I especially liked the normal and Dash Yoshi part in the original game, and I think that should be expanded on. We could even go all out and do a mishmash of themes from all the different worlds like with the hub, reflecting on that hub idea we had with mini ones for each world. There's so much we could do but it still needs a design to expand on and wrap together all these different ideas.

Erm, I don't really like the whole mishmash powerup idea. The level is supposed to be a dark warped wasteland.
That should be in FF. Fake final level and all.
Maybe a destroyed and dark matter covered version of certain planets before, with some landmarks sticking out of the goop.

Perhaps just a series of asteroid-like twisted planets at the beginning, but becoming denser and denser near the edge, with planets glued together, black holes under, over, and in the planets, and the end becoming just a smashed up gravity changing dark matter covered mess that Mario has to pass through, until the edge.

Is it possible to make invisible walls? If so, a transparent tunnel showing a complete blank white platform with a glowing effect would be good. If not, just a long walkway. (past the edge.)

yesh, they even have an invisible wall object in the game for use. They use it for stuff like 2D areas.

Destroyed floating platforms woild lead to the white tunnel made of invisible walls. Dark mattr-covered planets from previous galaxies; maybe not. It could seem like how Gold Leaf was to Honeyhive. And with these asteroids coming closer together, saturn-like planets are at the beginning and as you go on, their asteroid rings collide, maybe even add some space junk platforms.

Erm...what?
No, I meant just for the final preboss walkway.

And for the close together part, I meant literally fused, with vinelike entanglement of streams of obsidian and dark matter, with black holes embedded everywhere, making a near maze. Near constant weird gravity shifts as the player progresses will add to the difficulty.

Now I see about the walkway.

Exactly that about the fusion of asteroids. Large black holes would replace gas planets so that the blackholes have asteroid rings. And yes, dark matter and more blackholes everywhere. Also, why not have gravity puzzles as being some the "edge"? A giant alew of gravity puzzles parallel to each other that form a giant curve showing the universe's literal edge,

If we make a part of the background a black hole, it would be cool if we use the W6 blackhole froms SMG 2 ( you see it when stand on the spaceship)
Because it sucks astroids and stones in, And we can retexture it also to purple/green.

Instead irregular blobs of lava, irregular asteroids, planets, and platforms should be used instead. This level's death traps should be black holes, bottomless pits, Thwomps, Whomps, Tox Boxes, Spinning Thwomp Platforms, Pushy Walls, and possibly spikes.

um, I'm against most of those ideas except for the oddly shaped stuff.

Although, it would be cool to have a stretched-out, twisted heap which is suppose to be a Thwomp...

Long jumping should required for the irregular platforms. Like it has been said before, this should major platforming and gravity physics but not as extreme as the Super Mario Galaxy's first star.

There could be a section that has giant roller-like platforms that have one way gravity. The rollers should have electric barriers on them (not taller than a horizontal one) that you would have jump over. Also, there could be platforms that spin in place, but slower than the Spinning Thwomp Panels. And why not have spinning circles on layers? Dark matter woukd be present on the spinning ring layers.

There's been an idea that different NPC ships appear in this galaxy, fighting Bowser's forces in the background (or I guess as part of the level if you want.) And then when Mario reaches the actual edge of the universe, he's all alone.
