Does anyone who here has seen A Series of Unfortunate Events remember when the light gas line heated the doorknob and caused it to shatter? The big picture in the spoiler below is of a short circuit in an electrical outlet. It reminds me of the doorknob.

EDIT: Should this happen in the level?

Maybe flipping a switch that would cause that to happen and make something near it explode and disappear so you could move on?

The explosion could take away all the support for the microchip you are standing on. You must move to a stable microchip or you fall along with the unstable one.

How would you know which ones are stable and unstable?

The ones rocking back and forth are unstable like the half sphere rocks in the NSMB games.

Digital Circuit from Shadow the Hedgehog
Mad Matrix from the same game

Not bad. I especially like the first video- everything in constant motion, with firewalls and circuits constantly zipping together, breaking apart, reforming, forcing Mario to keeping moving (world 5).
It would be amazing to make a Launch Star at the beginning imitate the speeding effect of Sonic et al. Zigzagging.

Hmm, it would be interesting to first do the platforming-across-circuit-board like first half, then a delve deeper into the individual wires and circuits.

Bullet Base design-
Final Frontier- (collab)

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

Also the first of those two levels shares the same name as this galaxy :P

So, is this galaxy going with an electronical feel, with microchips, circuits boards and the like, or a virtual/digital feel, looking like the first video, with data, firewalls, and circuits?

Who says it can't be both? Some parts of the level could be outside of the circuits, and others can be inside.

I totally agree, both.
