Hey if this game stops them from making yet another full New Super Mario Bros. game on the NX, I'll settle with this style.

If all you can do is press B to jump...

They basically turned NSMB into Flappy Bird.

Super Mario RUN is just one big advertisement for their regular video games. The way the in app purchases work is that you can try a few levels for free and then buy the entire thing when you like it, like it has been on Cut The Rope, if I remember correctly.

In no way I think Nintendo will drop their proprietary hardware. They are way too stubborn to do so.

This is a timed exclusive. Apple just threw a lot of money at Nintendo. After a set period of time, the game will be available on Android as well.

Have you played the Rayman runners by any chance? I hear that it's pretty good. It also uses just one button to jump (but you can glide and punch other enemies, I believe). I don't want a full-fledged platforming game on mobile: it would be a disaster.

I'm not sure about that. It might be a different developing team, so the good folks behind New Super Mario Bros. might still be free to develop New Super Mario Bros. for NX.

Consider Nintendo dead. They touched the smartphone universe, they will get warped by its commercial stench if they haven't been already.

Even moreso as the game is only coming out on Apple devices, no Android or Winphone.

Unless they correct that later, you can consider Nintendo part of Apple already.

tl;dr RIP Nintendo
One of the biggest reasons I didn't like the idea of Nintendo releasing games on mobile platforms, I just hope it doesn't have to much of a bad influence...
I never liked the idea of Nintendo releasing content on any other platforms in general.
Their in worse shape than ever...

I mean, phones have never been a good platform for games, in my opinion.
The only reason I got a Smart Phone, was so I could look at forums while I'm out of the house, if it wasn't for that I would still be using my Flip Phone.

Phone games are typically time wasters you play when you have to wait for something or when you're bored.

(and I loathe the game trends where you have to play game X to be trendy)

Who knows what Nintendo will do next if the NX is a flop. The WiiU didn't sell that good. The 3DS did better though.

Am I weird for wanting Nintendo to release games on the PC platform?

you might as well want the moon to stop revolving around the earth.

Nintendo will never ever release games to a platform that is wide open and lets you do whatever. unless maybe the game runs completely on a cloud and what the PC gets is a dumb terminal.

Not really, it's your opinion. I don't expect everyone to have the same opinion, people like that get on my nerves.

The way I see it, there is no such thing as normal, the concept of normal is a mere illusion, nobody can ever truly be normal.

TBH I don't really think Nintendo games would work well on PC.

Perhaps they'll consider Steam, because anything else on a PC has no future, when it comes to gaming.
Actually, it won't be long, until we'll see Super Mario Sunshine 2 on PS4 and Xbox One, I'm afraid...

If it even is Super Mario Sunshine 2, but with their history of listening to what the fans want, I highly doubt it...

I took it as an example, I could as well have said "New Super Mario Bros. 3", or something like that.

The sad thing is that even if they turn into a 3rd party company, they'll just keep doing what they're doing now, only on different consoles...

Like SEGA did, basically...
They used to be a 1st Party Company, then shit didn't sell well (plus Sonic became shit), then they decided to become 3rd Party Developers, and they started to do the same thing, but on different consoles.

I honestly don't mind Mario Run, it'll just be a thing; not too big but not forgotten by everything else.

But I cross my fingers, pray, hope, make wishes to stars, and will give anything away if the mobile Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem get cancelled.

It's like they're trying to cement in their coffin...
that already has nails.

Never played it. Never really touched mobile games. For me, this is a novelty. O.o

As long as they get mobile and console environments separated I guess it will be okay for me.
Even so I think Nintendo made this to get easy and quickly money after all that"s because the iOS exclusive, since there isn"t any other real reason to launch it a lot later in Android.
