I just wonder if any of you guys play that. It's a building game that uses Lego type bricks. You can also script them to make them do things.

I suck at describing things.

I got the demo and I just play around with it out of boredom. Mixing the provided maps gives interesting results (for example, start a Pirate DM and load the MotE Mansion over it).

I mostly, well, wander around in maps, destroy shit, abuse items, etc...

Was thinking about eventually buying the full version, but dunno.

I remember playing the demo back around 2007-2008, and had a lot of fun with it. I specifically remember exploring a snowy mountain world and the inside of a giant house. Despite this I never ended up getting the full game.

To be honest I actually forgot about it, but it's nice to hear it's up and running still, but I imagine it gets overshadowed by other leading block games.

I used to destroy the maps a while back. I remember it had some sort of rampage mode where it turned you big and you just got to destroy stuff, but I didn't spend too much time on the game. I just did this on the demo.

I didn't know you could script blocks though. Guess its similar to roblox. I know quite a bit of LUA, what language does blockland use for block scripting?

from what I saw, it's not a language, you just set up events and shit, like "play a sound when this brick is clicked", "explode when this brick is touched", ...

So basically, it's extremely user-friendly? :P

Seems interesting, as oppose to Minecraft where things are a bit more complicated.

you can still do a lot of things if you take the time to explore it tho

The scripted thing sounds like Spore: Galactic Adventure, where you can create a priority list of actions for the AI to take, and you can change/add/remove/move around their priorities if you want. Anyway, I like creative games, but Minecraft and Lego and probably this game only slightly pique my interest. Minecraft's art style turns me off and I think Blockland looks pretty ugly too. I don't think they'll hold my interest as much as Spore had done.

At least since it is less known, there won't be so many skids in the community. I turned away from Minecraft in July 2013, because the community was utterly horrible anywhere.
