The relation between Autism and ROM Hacking isn't really that surprising, actually.
Autistic people are generally more creative and abstract, and if not, they're very fine programmers.

Social contacts are especially hard in real life, Online is much easier, for some reason.
To me, it feels like people just don't want to socialise with you, because of your handicaps.

Unfortunately, way to many people will take you for a stereotype, and think you're useless to society.

And in case you'd go after me, and say I'm 'generalising', I have Autism myself as well, so I know where I'm talking about.

nah, chances are that if you're a sex-obsessed self-righteous 12-year-old pile of diarrhea you're probably not going to give the slightest crap about your parent's money.

your own money, on the other hand...

those kids are quick to brag about their shit and how expensive it is, despite the fact it came from their parents' money, so... yeah

also I love your description

SGC: I'm Autistic (specifically: Asperger's and ADD) and I know what that feels, I've been through the same feelings.

StapleButter: I personally think you should make a 'Personal Lounge' type forum for serious debate such as this.

Also I remember being a little shit on forums about 2 years ago, but am much better now. Don't know if maturity speed is linked to such conditions myself.

maturing speed is different for all people, regardless of conditions like ADHD/etc. although those generally don't help.

the 'serious forum' thing is an interesting idea. Not sure how it'd go though. We typically add forums when we feel there'd be enough demand for them.

sooo... dunno. I'm going to poll the staff.

I'm heterosexual (plz don't kill me) and have no problem with other people's sexual preferences. What does sort of annoy me is when people use terms like "heteronormativity".

There's a 'serious forum' on Kafuka which seems to work well with several cases and discussions. Given the friendliness of this site, I'd be safe to say we have such a forum, since (most) users here can deal with mature and social issues. I'm only worried if people that are like Squiddy turn it into an attention-seeking dramafest forum, but that is not much of a worry.

Tahcryon: Don't worry, it seems you can't be anything these days without being looked down upon in some way. Sexuality and gender mean nothing to me unless you're saying such for attention or sympathy.

Yeah, but uh, I'd love to have a serious forum, where I can debate politics in a mature manner :>

And you know, other stuff, since this isn't really the right thread to talk about stuff like Autism. :P

People might have heard that I'm bi... I'm more bizarre than bisexual, honestly.

I'm much more on the heterosexual side. Bonus points to chubby girls, too.

What about you guys?

That joke..... Gave me a headache (kidding)
But, um, yeah. I am a hetero as well (hot ladies, come give me a good time.)

actually, I can feel attracted to certain guys, but it doesn't go far at all. Homosexual sex isn't something I want to get into.

I never want to get into it, nor have I wanted to.

Ableism

I'm not very surprised that several people have autism. It's like this in Marioboards, too.

I also think about them and my friend when I see antivaxxers being disgusting and all, but that's another topic.

Me, I've said this already, but I'm asexual aromantic so I'm not interested in neither intimacy nor sex. When I found out that my best friend has a girlfriend, I felt only slight twinge of jealousy, but my rational brain was like "no, she's just another friend I could possibly know about and it's good my friend has romantic feelings toward another person rather than me because I myself don't want to get involved". In fact, I don't want her angry at ME or my friend just because I exist, but given her personality (I haven't actually seen her yet), she might blame herself... which is just as bad.

Same deal with me, LGM. Felt only a twinge of jealousy, but it faded as quickly as it came. I never had closer feelings than being close friends anyway, aside from my relationship with you, which never got, you know, incest-y (don't wanna talk about that, ewww), and I'm more worried that the girlfriend might be jealous of US instead.

I'm straight. In school they started putting up transgender signs around bathrooms and I have to admit it kinda freaks me out. Plus people are making fun of people for being attracted to the opposite sex or changing genders..life is confusing and mysterious..
jeez, I don't know what to put here now.

I'm into both genders, as long as they are young enough and fit my standards.
[17:45:16] IceFairyAmy: i don't want a girlfriend tbh, it'd be a waste of time

I'm surprised at how many people are asexual. You always hear how "you are not alone" but I've never even heard of someone else being the same sexuality as me, hell, until 14 I never knew someone irl with the same name as me. Though hugs do make everything better. And lollipops! I don't tell many people as the last 'friend' I ever opened up to about my feelings and shiz, well, the words attention whore were her new favorite words after that and given my mental state I was pretty close to giving up. I have 3 gay friends, 2 bi, 2 transgender, 3 les and a genderfluid friend so if I was homophobic I's have 11 less friends :p I never used to be asexual until something happened but as above, I don't like opening up about it because that's what completly desimated my mental health and caused my asexuality and depression.

Sorry for the rant

Seth

I don't even know how to find gay friends or whatever. It just feels like everyone is heterosexual (or they're pretending).

not like it really matters tho.

Are you sure that's asexuality and not depressed from the lack of libido? They're two different things. Asexuality means you don't really care about sex at all, and you can live without it.

I'm asexual and aromantic. I don't don't feel any need to mate or anything like that. Simple as that.
