Recently, when I watch YouTube Videos, I tend to get an unskipable advert about tampons lately.
The weird thing is, I never even looked up anything regarding anti-conception at all...

tampons aren't anti-conception...

Wouldn't it be just the same as any other women item ads you normally see on TV? Also, do those advertisers know you're a woman? Because if you are, you probably have experienced les anglais, which tampons are for.

same for any ads really: when advertising cars, how do they know you're into cars?

they don't, but they try to hit the widest audience possible

Sigh... men... trying to understand who needs tampons, that's cute.

0:00 to 0:44.
You don't have to understand anything. This ad tries to show how wonderful and cool toilets can be...Of course, they had to put in some semi-epic piano music. It couldn't get worse. ._.

I love how people think that life outside of our modern system is unlivable hell of disease and death

yet, our ancestors have survived, and there are people who live in similar conditions and they're mostly happy

our ancestors have made fire with stones and hunted mammoths with stones and sticks.

what do we do? smart Q-tips that tweet pics of inside your ears.

The more our technology evolves, the more dependent we become on it.

I mean, power outages are pretty much living hell today, but back then, your entire life was a power outage so you found something to do despite things. Me, well, I at least draw and read, and I have my Mario toys so there's those.

I do prefer living today though, where information I need to know is within my grasp thanks to smartphones and the internet though. Otherwise I'd be pretty ignorant of the the world around me. Today also has more advances in medicine and science as well, and because of that, we're better off today not even needing to think about measles and all the other life-threatening diseases that were prevalent centuries ago.

sure, today is more comfortable, but it has its lots of issues too.

we're going too far on the comfort side-- technology should help mankind, not assist it. I don't want to be a huge baby who is completely dependent on technology (basically a Wall-E human).

except they don't care about our comfort, they only care about extracting money from idiots. it's purely capitalist.

don't get me started on shit like pollution.

Funny thing is, if it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't be interested in using phones in the first place. The GPS is also a nice piece of junk when getting around too, maps are a bit annoying to consult.

I remember hearing about automatic, electronic can openers and I was like "really, you need it to be electronic to open it?" The manual hasn't ever failed me before, so why should I "upgrade" to electric?

StapleButter
Posted on 08-26-16 06:04 PM Link | #76529
slightly more convenient? :P

the manual openers are fine

then again, electric openers aren't new. maybe good for restaurants where you need to work quickly.

surely we'll see smart openers become a thing soon, though

Not before we get smart utensils like knives or forks

Wait, do they exist yet? I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I'd be more surprised if they don't exist yet.
