I also remember ads saying crap like Coke Zero or whatever claiming that it tastes "just as good" as regular Coke. Which is a huge stretch to say, because aspartame tastes like ass compared to high fructose corn syrup.

All it is is a glorified diet Coke, no more, no less. I don't think they even taste different at all. How can something with zero calories taste just as good as something that does have calories?

give me one example of diet food that tastes good, anyway

diet food means they remove sugar, fat, and any damn thing that makes food be worth something

reminds me of that ad: woman speaking, "I am full of contradictions, I can drool over a pizza after leaving gym"

she stops in front of a bakery window and looks at a pizza, it sure looks like it tastes good, she looks like she wants the pizza badly

then she pulls out a crap diet chocolate bar thing (Gerlinéa) and almost sticks her tongue out to the pizza

and then they try to sell that that crappy little bar is a "fitness meal"

despite the fact that a) it's fucking tiny and b) it surely tastes like shit

maybe if you make that your only meal, you lose weight... from starvation and depression

(I don't know about you guys but I don't need to buy their crap to lose weight, and I'm sure you don't need it either)

and don't get me started on the fucking Somatoline Cosmetic spray. Like spraying that shit on your thighs is going to magically make you lose weight.

And they feel the need to constantly remind you that "it works" at the end of their ads-- yeah, their scam probably works given how many idiots are willing to buy whatever that is said to make you lose weight, regardless of how idiotic it is

the only thing that loses weight is your wallet

and the real gold is that the woman using the spray is already thin enough and doesn't fucking need to lose weight. When is that crap ceasing? they (not just Somatoline, a lot of others) keep trying to brainwash girls into thinking they need to lose weight so they buy that junk.

It's all a scam. The fun fact is that none of it actually makes you lose wait. My mother eats diet food, and no matter how much I try to tell he it's a scam, she wastes money on it anyway. Diet food will leave you feeling empty, it can't make up for what regular food can, so as soon as you finish on diet candy bar, you'll get another one because you're still not satisfied. When in reality eating one regular version of the same brand of candy bar would satisfy you much quicker. Hopefully no one here, or on any other forum falls for these things. The people who do fall for it, fall victim to the giant, money devouring, lying, manipulative corporate monster. Seriously, if someone likes you just because you're thin, then you need to find someone else.

The only real good way to lose weight is exercise and proper eating. I've been losing weight by walking the half a mile from my school to my house every day as well as doing push ups and sit ups. The thing about diet food that I find hilarious is that they are technically worse for you because of how many chemicals they pump into most kinds of it. The only diet thing i'll ever get is diet sweetened tea, and thats onle because it uses splenda (which isnt as bad as other chemicals they could use and is on average less calories) and is, most of the time, about as expensive as the regular stuff.

I don't think it's really the chemicals that are the problem. It's that diet foods lack satiety and nutrients, so people just eat more trash when they can eat far healthier foods. That being said, people associate "diet" with bad tasting. They even perceive normal food to be worse tasting when sold in packaged labeled diet.

finally some intelligent people

I suspect this law won't get as much success as the one that requires you to inform visitors about cookies, though

(cookie law which we respect btw; I'm just not slapping obnoxious banners in people's faces, but if they take the time to read the things they should read before registering, they'll be informed about the cookies we use)

Local TV presents you today's new pointless products.

Smart gourd. Humans are too dumb to know when they need to drink. They need an app to remind them.

Smart swimsuit. It tells you when the company thinks that you have tanned enough. It also comes with an extra feature that allows you to track and control your children better (provided they wear the smart swimsuit).

(nevermind that taking your phone to the beach is a bad idea because of the sand)

There was also a thing that allows swimmers to know when they're drifting from their track. Might be convenient for blind swimmers.

Real progress in this domain is dead. Now they're producing loads of crap just to make money, hoping that the "smart object" bandwagon will make it work. Idiots.

Progresive has had the most irritating ads ever. Especially the action figure ad. They are trying too hard to get customers.

Ads are crap. Online ads get taken down by Adblock + which is what I use. Then on websites like Adfly, Mediafire, Adfoc.us, YouTube, etc I can browse in peace, no shitass ads. But TV commercials are what piss us off that we can't skip them :( and ads probably will exist until the world ends :(

KuriPhone? yeah not paying that price for something dumb the iPhone 6s for £550 (in my country) can smash that

I thinks that the most stupid ads ever existing would be the ones that pop up endlessly.

-You get on a web page. oh no...an ad pops up *clicks 'x'.

-4 seconds later...ahh another ad!! STOP please Stop!! *clicks 'x'

-2 seconds later...dammit! *throw all you technology out the window and realize *crap...I needed that stuff to do other things :P

oh and hey, there's that new ad for the new Danonino gourd thing, I guess it's a drinkable yogurt or something, but whatever

kid: "mom, can I go to the cabin with <friends or whatever>?"

off voice: "it can be hard to say yes"

kid takes a Danonino gourd, puts it in his backpack and goes to the cabin where his friends are

off voice: "with the new Danonino gourd, say yes to their desire of autonomy, so they grow up happy etc"

THE HOLY NEW DANONINO GOURD WILL PROVIDE YOUR KID AUTONOMY. WITHOUT IT HE WOULD STARVE TO DEATH WHILE STAYING IN THAT CABIN WITH HIS FRIENDS. BUT THE DANONINO GOURD KEEPS HIM ALIVE!!
