Figured I'd write this as a little handy guide.
• When the post you're replying to is the last post in the thread, there is no need to quote it! (you might need to add a quote if you get ninja'd though; use common sense) • When quoting a big post, you can (and should) strip out all the parts you're not replying to. • You can even reuse the quote's surrounding tags to split a big quote into multiple smaller quotes and reply to them individually. • Similarly, when quoting a post that contains big images or video embeds, strip them out! No need to duplicate them! • As to how this board works regarding quotes: Clicking the Quote links above posts adds a quote of the corresponding post in the reply form if it's present (on the new reply page, or on threads when the quick reply form is present). This allows to easily quote multiple posts. When quoting a post that already contains quotes, those are stripped out.
