Hello everyone!!

Since I've seen the Space World trailer of Super Mario Sunshine, I've always wanted to play on the beta map.

It's been my biggest wish to help on recreating the whole Dolphic Town Beta... yeah, "help", since I've no knowledge of ANY kind in 3D modeling...

Since Smsrealm .net seems to de down, I have to post this thread here.

So this is where the mission starts:

This is the entire drawn map of Dolphic Town shown in the 2001 SpaceWorld trailer.

I've used the trailer and some screenshots from IGN and gamecubicle in order to do this.

Some places on the map are still unknown to me... so, whether I filled them, or keep them blank if you had any ideas...

Now, this is where anyone of you (someone who knows how to 3d-model something) can participate in this little project!

Here's a .zip file with the trailer from Spaceworld and every pictures I've used:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bevfnbe2alar7bx/Sms.zip?dl=0

You have to use them in order to have more informations about the map (the height of the houses, the shape of the roofs...)

If anyone is interested in the full recreation of the map, I can give more information about some places I know.

Ask me questions if you have some!

And I have to thank VERY VERY VERY much TheJeffreyLand, from smsrealm.net who came across this super interesting image: [image]
It helped me a lot!

Also, he already started to do the main plaza of the map, but sadly, since smsrealm seems to be down, I cannot recover any screenshot of his progress he made so far.
But I can't prevent anyone of you to try to model it too! :)

>inb4 someone says "this sounds like a 'do the work for me' request"

This sounds like a cool idea, and I definately would help... if I knew about modeling even the slightest bit more than you.

Good luck anyways! ;)

I figured a few people would come over here to note that SMSRealm is down, but the sad news is that the site is officially dead, and is gone forever due to a 'corrupted kernel' issue, but no worries, I will be bringing back the SMS hacking community under a new name and will have partnership with Kuribo64 just like SMSRealm did.

Anyways, I know a lot of people were hype over this map image discovery, though you might not want to jump on the 'restoration wagon' just yet. Very recently, there was a meeting/discussion amongst the staff of SMSRealm, confirming that sometime after Project Galaxy, will be a
SMS: Spaceworld '01 restoration in the works.

We're not ready to present the mod just yet, because it's very early progress, and we have rough theories at the moment. But I just thought I point out that it will be a thing after Project Galaxy.
