Post you custom themes here and if you want provide a download link if you want it to be downloaded.
You will need NinjHax, Ironhax or Tubehax to install custom themes.

Hah, that's actually really cool! I'd love such a theme. Does it scroll?

I might make a tutorial on how to make and install custom themes soon.
No need, Google's already done it for you.

Probably. :I

Interesting concept, though wouldn't it be hard to read stuff against that background?

I don't know how far you can go with custom 3DS themes, but if you put a black border around text you're able to read it on basically everything.

How to Install Themes

First off, you need a theme. Here's mine: https://goo.gl/QPW5K6

Also, here's a few pictures:

Next, you need CHMM, which is here: https://goo.gl/1NykWS

Place the .3dsx file from CHMM in \3ds\CHMM\ on your 3DS's main SD card. Now on the root of the SD card, place the folder from my theme in \Themes\.

!IMPORTANT! Before loading a theme, make sure you have your 3DS set to use the default, white theme, or CHMM will fail to install the theme.

Now put the SD card back in your 3DS and start the Homebrew Channel. Load up CHMM and install your theme using the A button. Exit to the home menu and you now have a theme!

The theme will stay even if you turn off your 3DS, take the theme files off the SD card, or really do anything. If you switch to a different theme, say the default, the only way to load the theme again is to load CHMM back up.

How to Make a Theme
OK, making themes is a much harder process. I'll explain pretty much everything you need to know, from custom music importing to colours and such. I'll break it down into chunks hidden in spoilers due to how many things there are.

The first step for anything is what programs you need. The universal tool for everything is known as YATA. Since the developer stopped updating it, someone else modified it and added a whole bunch of stuff. Here's a link: https://goo.gl/qIurkB

Also, When you first start YATA, you need to go to File->New if your making a new theme, or File->Open to load a theme you have been previously working on. If you do neither, everything will be unclickable and greyed out.

Images

OK, so images aren't that bad. There are some formatting oddities however, as well as many different images to change.

Top Screen
There are a number of options for top screen images. I'll cover the most basic one, a static texture for the top screen. The resolution of the image you put into YATA must be 512x256, however the 3DS will only display the top-left 412x240 pixels. The rest will never be seen, so you can do whatever you want in there. Just put your picture in the top-left 412x240 pixels of the image and save the whole thing as a png file. Open YATA+, select the top screen, go to Edit-> Import Image, select your PNG, and to test it, you can use the Simulate option.

Bottom Screen
The bottom screen is mostly the same, except instead of the drawable area being 412x240, it's 320x240. Just refrence back to the top screen for the rest.

I'll add more to this when I have more time.

Interesting, sounds pretty cool on how you can edit all the stuff (like folders icons, music, etc.)

Once IronHax is released, I'm looking forward to make some custom themes.

I read custom themes can screw up your system as much as they did in the Wii days. Do you have any advice on this?

Is there any links to where you read how can you brick your 3ds with poorly installed themes?

Or well, how can they screw up the 3ds?

Here's a thing on reddit.

I'm not really sure what he's all talking about as I don't have an exploited 3DS right now, but it seems like you can screw some stuff up if you don't pay attention.

Reading that seems like you can't brick the 3DS.

Since the themes are saved on the SD, you just had to remove it.

Or take a backup in that case.

Still, I'll read more on the subject.

Will you do another similar theme, except with other user avatars that you have not used?

Do we have a Kuribo64 anthem? Something that would be fitting background music?
