Okay, so recently I acquired an Acer Aspire 3680, and I formatted its hard drive and installed Windows Longhorn Build 4039 on it. A few days later my main computer broke down, so now I'm stuck with the Acer Aspire (which I will refer to by its name, "Plexbook" from here on).

I can't seem to get it to connect to the internet, via ethernet cable, data cable, or Wi-Fi. I know it has a Wireless Network adapter, which worked back when it had Windows Vista on it. Does anyone have any suggestions? (It's pretty close to Windows XP, so solutions for XP and XP SP1 may apply here). I need this computer for school purposes, so if any solutions have a potential to break other stuff, than I'd appreciate if that was noted in the post.

Running an unreleased OS is like running a technical preview -- don't expect any support.

It's very simple: roll back to Vista (which is going to be a pain since you formatted your legitimate licence) or another official release. Unless you feel like writing your own drivers for Longhorn, of course :p

Er...okay...I wasn't planning to use this computer, and I have no method of rolling back. I'm aware that there's no guarantee of any support, but I was hoping someone might know a fix for XP, as this build is pretty close to XP, and some XP drivers seem to work on it...

I suggest you try finding the XP and Vista drivers for it and try to install them. (If they don't work, try running the XP driver installer in compatibility mode, if that even exists in Longhorn.)

Tried that. It provably would've worked, except that, it turns out, the netwok adapters are just broken. So...yeah...I guess this thread can be locked/deleted now...perhaps...
