I don't think people should come too fast to a conclusion about changing their gender. It's a very important decision to make in your life, and imo you have to be 100% sure of the fact that you were born "in the wrong body" (this can even have real medical reasons about genes or whatever). Just wait a few more years and you'll be sure. Like with sexual orientation, when still young you can be very confused about who you really are :P

Yeah, doesn't hurt in waiting.

It's something you feel inside yourself. Cis people generally don't feel anything in that regard.

But there are many ways it can manifest. While it's good to take the time to question yourself and not rush the decision, there is no need for excessive gatekeeping either.

Also, as someone said on reddit, transition is a process and not an event. You do what you like, pretty much, and don't do what you don't like.

I'm about 90% certain I want to do this at the moment.

I can't think of a reason other than the fact I don't really like being a guy and I feel unhappy about what I look like and seem like as a guy, even though I've been told I don't look that bad. I feel that girls have less expected of them in terms of personality than guys. :P

Being unhappy about my biological gender identity is pretty much the main reason people transition, as far as I know.

I've been thinking about this for about a year and a half although I only took it a lot more seriously since earlier this year.

I also didn't know Staple felt that way. ^^ I wish you the best of luck. :)

I remember you saying the same thing last time, on your board.
And I remember very clearly you didn't document yourself on the process at all. I very much hope you did by now, and you're sure of what you want.

µ

Meanwhile, I still didn't come out to my parents.
At least I'll be 18 in a year. But I have few connections, so I'm not too sure what to do. I documented myself way enough, but that does not answer everything. I'm not hoping for miracles to happen.

I can wait, tbh. Tho not forever.

Yeah, I've been looking into it a bit and I'd be fine doing it.

Regarding what you said in the spoiler tag that you decided to hide, since you're going to be 18 in a years' time, you should be free to do what you like then. :)

Also, nice job with the avatar. I like Flandre, but Chiruno is cuter. :3

this part of the internet should be renamed the transnet, because from Acmlm's Board to today, it seems to be a recurring theme :P

Lol, if there was actually an Internet-like network called the 'LGBTnet' or such, I'd definitely be an active contributor on it. :P

Speaking of that, if I ran an IRC network, then I'd definitely make one of the rules to be respectful to transgenders.

you can just say "don't be a bigot".

which is pretty much the rules enforced here. someone was banned for saying that "it's a bad thing to be gay".

Different wording, same thing, I suppose. Except I was being a little too specific.

I also can't believe there are still people that think it's wrong to be anything other than cisgender and heterosexual in these times... can't people grow up and learn reality isn't 'everything is the same'?

some people are scared of what they don't know.

there are idiots who think gays are weirdos obsessed with shoving things up their ass. yes.

there's also a whole lot of undereducation regarding gender. when all you know is that "there are two genders, XX and XY", and suddenly that guy becomes a girl, you assume they're a crossdresser living some weird fantasy.

reminds me that for a while, I thought that my gender confusion was a result of not having a girlfriend ("you're just desireful of girl attributes, and since you have no partner, you're trying them on yourself in the lack of anything better"), and that it would go away if I got one. it's a common theme, and it's not how it works.

Yeah, people on the internet, when they hear about gender, say "there are two" and ignore the fact that there are several meanings to the word "gender". (Read. Fucking. Wikipédia.)

Sex and gender are two different things: gender is what you choose to identify as and appear as (since gender has the connotations of a more social aspect) while sex is what you were born as (since sex has the connotations of a more scientific aspect) - or something like that...

Gender isn't really a "choice" though, it's more something that you feel inside yourself.

I worded that completely wrong, that was all. :P
I need to work on my English: sometimes I make sentences that make completely no sense at all, use the wrong word or tense... I hardly even talk like a native Brit.

So Mario Kart 8 custom tracks are coming soon(tm), and this time it's far from being simple shit. Nintendo really used modern video game techniques for this game, and they have to be used in order to create nice-looking CTs.

How much will that cost roughly in GBP? I'm not an expert on computer hardware. Hope it all works out and you get to play the games you want, though.

In theory.

Things are rarely that simple in reality.

The typical Frenchie, at 18, gets their 'baccalauréat' exam (A levels). Passing the exam is barely enough to get any sort of job that isn't illegal (and thus submitted to reckless bosses).

My sister pretty much stopped studies past that. She's working jobs like waitress etc. It's nice, but so far she's still living with my parents (and squatting friends half the time).
