I mean, I like material design, but in my opinion, it works better on mobile than on the desktop. The new YouTube layout is basically just the same with more whitespace. I like the dark theme, and I like that it's vectorized (meaning it looks much better on my retina MacBook), but I hate the stupid automatic page loading and the circle cropped avatars.

• Nadia: makes her BQFX file an AJ7
• SuperHackio: questions what that is
<~StapleButter> the AJ7 is an automatic rifle model based on the well-known AK47

I'm that person who thinks Youtube just sucks in general. It's always hard to load anything in that shitty website. Design is eh, I don't think I've noticed that much. What bothers me more is more the greasy, oily, rusty, grinding, bloated gears that run that shit.

I tend to say that since YouTube provides a free service (getting moneyz by doing videos) that other services don't provide, so despite the advertizers basically controlling everything and doing yellow dollar shit, you can't really complain.
Changing things would likely require either the Anonymous nuking it or a general boycott from ALL YouTubers around the world, and both are highly unlikely.

ideally, video hosting should be decentralized

but, videos take a lot of bandwidth, and bandwidth isn't free, yadda yadda yadda

Updating because of the new YouTube layout. Still not responsive - Google favouring a mobile app over making a responsive mobile design, channels and such look even more bland, etc.

Might as well permanently move to VidLii if people would actually upload non-YTP videos there.

Does anyone have ever mention this video that YouTube has?

So when you get a strike on your video, you have the option to watch this one. I never have gotten a strike, but I can imagine how annoying it is to do a crappy quiz on copyright. Also, yes, that is Russel from Happy Tree Friends, becasue YouTube was to lazy to make original characters.

The video itself has many problems like the aformentioned laznies with using HTF characters, aggravating and cringeyworthy narrator, and a whole lot of bad information. If you look at the video, it has a ton of dislikes and the coments are disabled. There is also 101 Subscriptions with Cuddles, but I don't really care. I guess YouTube thinks your stupid so it teaches you how to subscribe and unsubscribe, I assume. Maybe you could like that video instead if you're HTF fan.

Also, I love how they don't credit MondoMedia for what they done here, despite the fact they made it. :P

Yeah I remember watching this a while back.

But at least it's more interesting than a paragraph.

"Google has all of your YouTube history

Google stores all of your YouTube history, so they probably know whether you’re going to be a parent soon, if you’re a conservative, if you’re a progressive, if you’re Jewish, Christian, or Muslim, if you’re feeling depressed or suicidal, if you’re anorexic …
"

good so they know i'm a modder who loves Baby Luigi and likes some music, none which should be news to anyone.

also thanks facebook for giving more more reasons to never ever use your service ever

They probably know where you shop (Google probably put ad trackers in stores) and where you drive (Google Drive) and what sites you visit, including maybe sensitive sites like health insurance.

Yeah, you seem mundane, but when the information is breached.... yeah.

I mean, I don't trust Google, but I don't particularly care if they know what types of ads they cater to me because I visit Mario websites because I'm a Mario fan or where I use Google Drive (and I don't use it). I'll start caring when my data will actually get breached, but for now, while I won't dispute that there is a risk there, I'm not fearing over it.

Actually, I'm more angry on why they suddenly removed the "View Image" button when searching for images.

Like, what was the problem with that? You now have to right click on it to select "View image"

They could be improving something else lol

Some copyright crap. There are plugins that bring it back though.

If you use firefox this one works fine: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/image-direct/

Copyright is really such contempt for the paying customer.

Copyright is contemptuous and contradictory towards artists in general.

One of the first things that I've disabled once I made my YouTube account is all the tracking related to the videos that I've watched, not only because privacy, but more importantly because having a meter showing how much of a video I've watched annoys me. I can keep track of it myself, thank you YouTube.

But I'm logged out most of the time so it doesn't really matter now that I think about it.

If you click back it'll start where you left off, meaning you won't have to find it again.
It's actually pretty helpful. Not always, but it can be.

But it should be an option for us to decide. Is YouTube remembering where you left off, an optional feature?
