NWPlayer123 made one for splatoon. You can see it on his twitter. But he hasn't released it.

Also, MrBean's yamlconv doesn't work on them.

Maybe one of these, or Kinnay's SM3DW editor could be modded to convert or display SM3DL's BYMLs?

A SM3DL editor could be made and combined into Kinnay's SM3DW's editor. It'd be great to help out with that. :) I've taken a look at SM3DW, now just need to take a look at SM3DL...

Do believe somebody said its the same/similar to Mario Kart 7, so whenever we see a public MK7 editor, we should see one for SM3DL not far behind.

The Editor for KMP files is called KMP Expander and the rest is named Every File Explorer (EFE)

Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I'll try swapping it after I dump my cart (can't be bothered to figure out layeredfs yet)

I tried it. It starts off your charracter in a blue screen then the character falls forever. You cant see the character.
Edit: Nevermind it worked. Wrong stage files

Just tried it myself. Just replace the relevant StageData files. Nothing interesting unfortunately:
* All blocks's item setting is "1 coin".
* Pipe isn't linked to another pipe, so game gets stuck.
* Lack of collision in places where Mario doesn't go near in the title screen cutscene.
* There is something at the end that triggers confetti

It's not that interesting but still good to know it's possible to "change" a levels data. If only there was a level editor simular to whitehole and sm64dse I'm sure it would get quite a bit of attention
I doubt we will see one anytime soon though.
