SMG2 has Hammer and Boomerang Bros., I did a Fire Bros. by make the Hammer Bros red and replace the hammer model and animation with a fire ball. Well it's not perfect, but I did what I could. Here is the video:

you made at least the graphic, it looks good and how nintendo would do it. and with the recent events around custom object development I am sure this will work like an actual fireball.

Needs some ASM hacking and then there will be a new enemy in SMG2.

Maybe its possible to edit the collision of the boomerang, to burn Mario.

Apparently ActorInfo can be used to set collision values, and to select particles. Translation: By tweaking the ActorInfo for the hammer, the fireballs could be made to trail fire particles as they fly and burn Mario on contact!
