I simplified my Riivolution setup to be simple enough as copy and paste.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56043942/GalaxyGuideRes/RiivolutionSetup/NWPRiivolutionSimpleSetup.zip
Just extract all the files into /riivolution, drop any files in /riivolution/SMG2Test in the corresponding folder, and test.
I also included the option of copying your save data to an SD if you don't want to mess it up.

You should have no problems, it works on all versions, and it'll create files/folders if they don't exist.

...Well, after examining the SMG2 files, I noticed something...

In the UsFrench folder, the file "SystemMessage" is an ARC file... and in the UsSpanish folder, I had the "SystemMessage.ARC" file extracted... BUT I NEVER CONVERTED IT BACK TO AN ARC FILE!!!!

I feel dumb right now... :(

Don't beat yourself up about it, everyone does stupid things heee and there. You think that's bad? I once spent almost a month trying to figure out why some custom planets weren't working...

...the whole time, I had forgotten to put my modified PlanetMapDataTable.arc on my SD card!!! See, you're not dumb, you just messed something up. You are not just your actions.

Well, I have another question...

When you get a Power Star, the "You got a Star!" text box is formatted like this:
You got a Star!

Star Count
Star Count

...but some of my Star Names take up TWO lines, so the galaxy name overlaps the top half of the Star Count... like this:
You got a Star!

/ Star Count
Star Count

Is there a way to make the text box bigger? (If it matters, this only happens when the language is set to UsSpanish.)

No, just make the name shorter.

The Wii Layout editor might be able to slide the text down, which would be an ugly and awkward fix, but it might do the trick...

OK. The reason I asked this is because in SMG1, the game makes the text box bigger by default in order to fit the two-lined Star Names...

Really, SMG1 does that? Hmm...not sure about this, but if SMG1's LayoutData thing for that screen is close enough to SMG2's to be ported, then...that might work. Or it might not.

Yeah... SMG1 does that (but only when playing in a language other than English).

I can't figure out if it would work, because I don't have the SMG1 files... do you?

Yes. I'll try it some time, hopefully later today or tomorrow. If it works, then yay, I'll modify the files in some small way, then send them to you. If not, then nothing has been lost.

OK! (But make sure you're playing in a language other than English. i.e. - Spanish, German, etc.)

How to change the language?

If you have a Wii U: You can change the language in the Wii U Settings.
If you have a Wii: Just rename the "UsSpanish" file to "UsEnglish", and vice versa.

Also, you'll need to purposely make a Star Name take up two lines by editing the ARC file first...

Uh...the Wii trick probably wouldn't work, as that doesn't technically change the language, it just replaces the selected language. Fortunately, I have a Wii U with Riivolution on it, so I'll take a crack at this thing.

...is the 2-line Star name in the UsSpanish text you sent me? If so, which Star in which Galaxy?

Ok... The two-line Star Names aren't in the UsSpanish file I sent you before... because I didn't convert the file to ARC form (as stated earlier).

Here is the new file that actually DOES have two-line Star names: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0B0pwLVSsqDpbbG4zTTZDZnlyODg

(There are a few missions with two-lined Star names, such as Peewee Piranha's Temper Tantrum and Rolling Crabber Romp. (Sky Station and Bowler Bowl Galaxy, respectively))

EDIT
So, have you gotten the time to try it out yet?

Also, I have a question. In the object database, it says that you can set the mission number of the Power Stars, Green Stars, and Grand Stars and that you can link the Power Star to the scenario file... What exactly does THAT mean?

Example: If the PowerStar has an obj_arg0 of 4, it will be the galaxy's fourth star when collected.

So, when it says that you can link it to the Scenario file... does that mean you can have more than 2 (or 3 in some galaxies) Power Stars/Green Stars in a galaxy?

You need to add an entry in the galaxy's scenario file as well.

So you CAN have more than 4 or 6 Stars in a galaxy?! :O

OK... but how do you give the new Power Star mission a name?
