BTP = Texture Palette (IE Flying Mario)
BTK = Texture Kinetic (IE changing texture coordinates to make it move - Waterfalls and such)

Does anyone have a documentation on the BTK file? I would like to try out some things but I can't find anything on the wiki even. if you made a whole editor which can read all these files, how come that only a few files are documented? (just a question)

They aren't documented, nobody bothered to do so because we couldn't do anything with it easily (same reason there's no material editor) since we can't import jointed models. None of the animations other than BTK (Joint Animations, which MN1 has a (text) editor for) are documented.

Wat

I thought it was a BCK editor...wait, is there a BTK editor that I'm not aware of? Or was that just a typo?

Whatever it's called, PyBCK, link here, is the only thing we have.

What's the difference between PlanetMapDataTable and ProductMapObjDataTable?

PlanetMapDataTable has more settings like "load low model" or "water flag".
ProductMapObjDataTable is a simple version of this.

Doesn't PlanetMapDataTable do the model more like a planet?

No, that's called collision, gravity, and cameras.

PlanetMapDataTable is for identifying certain flags in an object that requires a low model, water, and a lot more planet-specific flags that divides it into another object.

ProductMapObjDataTable is used for simple functional objects, such as trees, and other things. But it's way of defining it's category, is the object itself, by not splitting itself into other objects. (Like, if it's a Sky, Air, moving object, etc.)

Few days ago I found a "tutorial" how to change the music when I change a planet in a level. Today I can not find it anymore :P

uh, are you sure? I don't remember there ever being a tutorial for that. The closest is how to add new music.

The game crashed before the logo and the file select come when I hex edited a BMG file in SMG1. Any idea why it crashed?

You probably changed the length of the file (instead of putting all zeroes after the message), fucking up all the offsets and completely breaking the file.

Is it a way to fix it so just the text I changed doesn't screw up all other text and don't do so the game crash?

Well unless you want to rebuild the entire file, your only option is to replace the string with a shorter one, followed by a bunch of "00" after it to keep the text after it in the same place.
(IE Somehow we made it too! > Hello! )
