That's kind of a difficult topic, because nobody has really cared about it that much. It's in the sound files (duh). And I think the objects are "BGMChangeArea" or something.

Don't wanna cut in on [user 550]'s question, but...

I had looked at some of those objects before. Couldn't figure out how to get them to work.

As a side note, I figured out some stuff for the unused BgmVolumeFadeArea object. Added to Object Database. Probably should have posted that in discoveries or something.

What exactly is ChildObj? Will this object type also be supported in the SMG Hacking Mega Tool?

To not derail things.

ChildObj is part of Nintendo's weird boss setup, you can safely ignore it.

I dunno, it seems kinda useless because not many care about SMG1.

But I guess I can scoot that in.

When I used the AW converter, I get a bunch of corrupted sound files. Am I missing something? I have the SMR, and everything else that was discussed in this thread.

SMG2 uses a different SMR.szs. You have to use the one from SMG2 which is located in AudioRes.

What I have to do to make custom backgrounds? Or is it impossible? :O

It's possible. Create a ball and texture the inside of it.

Just make sure it's quite big. Like, really, REALLY big. Otherwise it'll be too small, and if my experimentation is valid, then skyboxes must have a scale of either 1 or 3 on all axes...not big enough to rectify any major error of scale.

Or just texture hack it...
:P
also yay 3,000th post, useless as hell.

I have yet to find a sky bdl that can be texture hacked without being somehow messed up.

You don't have to flip the faces so they are on the inside, All you have to do is texture a shape (like a box or a sphere) like the background you want. Then you go into the ProductMapObjDataTable.arc, add new entry, and set it to GalaxySky (or something like it), not SimpleObject (or SimpleObj). The game automatically flips the faces in the right direction, and the model follows you, like the other backgrounds.

Sky, Air, or ProjectionMapSky

Use ProjectionMapSky.

Yeah, its been a while since I last used the ProductMapObjDataTable, I've mainly been using PlanetMapDataTable. That way, planets don't just disappear when Mario goes too far away from them.

But yeah, as MrRean said above, you can give your object a few effects.

Is it possible texture animations with GIF images?

Why?

NWPlayer123
Posted on 09-14-14 06:45 PM Link | #48203
Because the game doesn't support it and the file format doesn't support it.
