How come as soon as I say I'm going to try making art, everyone else decides to make art as well x|

I said I might make some planet art based on his idea. :P It's unrelated to yours.
Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!

Ugh I'm terrible at drawing. Imma just make a basic model of the planet(s?) sometime. Basically what I'm thinking is a big flat octagonal planet with a large mountain in the middle.
In the past, it has some stone roads and pillars with hieroglyphs, sonewgat similar to those of Clockwork Ruins, as it is the height of an ancient civilization. A great temple is at the top of the mountain.
In the present, the ancient stuff is, well, ancient and a big futuristic city has sprung up (think of the future levels from Crash Bandicoot: Warped). Some of the ancient columns are preserved at least partially, providing a stark contrast to the flashy, bright city. The mountain temple is weathered, but in good condition for an ancient building, as it has been preserved as a historical artifact.
In the future, the planet is littered with the broken, half-buried remains of the city buildings. The sturdy ancient pillars still stand, though they are buried deep in junk and masked by the dusty air. Some old flickering neon signs act as reminders of the planet's past. The mountain temple still survives, the only building still intact.

The ancient structures would be fairly low-poly, but with elaborate hieroglyph and painting textures to add depth. The city buildings would be higher-poly, but with simple colors and patterns rather than the artistry of the ancient times. The future would have both, but covered in grey dust and other blemishes.

I texted this on my phone so you'd better friggin appreciate it c:

Mountains are overrated. We could do a lot better >_<

This would be a very stylized mountain, almost as if it's manmade, but not quite. It would likely be fairly polygonal (possibly octagonal like the planet) with hieroglyphs carved into it, as well as various other carvings and pathways. In other words, it's not just a generic mountain.

Hmm, nice. But perhaps a few more planets?
(I mean, this is galaxy :3)

Perhaps one of the "ancient" monuments could be a standing circle of stones. The city would cover the circle in the "present", with only a couple still standing as relics and some rubble piles.

There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, it's usually an oncoming express train.

Slow and steady gets you trampled by the other guys.

Well yeah, that's just my idea for that one planet. It'd be cool to have some smaller planets scattered around near the main one.

Also, for this big planet I'm thinking of. A lot of stuff would be octagonal or rectangular, so it would have to be textured well to look deliberately angular, not just low-poly. The idea is it's a product of an ancient civilization, so the texturing should be elaborate and reflect an artistic style.

If we're gonna work on this - think Lanayru Mining Facility. That's basically the concept behind this galaxy. There's so much we can do with this o,o especially since this is world 5. Think concepts, not designs. We need ideas before we can put those ideas together into a design. Using the spin area/trigger to change stuff in the environment, using time to our advantage - slowing down stuff to get past obstacles, using groupswitchwatchers to make you need to activate one or all of something, maybe hitting X switches to make a door disappear, timerswitches, killing all enemies, etc.

SO MANY OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM

The art style doesn't matter until we get a ground to walk on to SEE said art - a ground made out of ideas.

BUMPING THE THREAD SO IT SAYS NEW. STOP POSTING ON THE OTHER THREAD, DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE DAMN ART YET. We also have TimerSwitch which we can use for puzzles to set delays.
