Microsoft leaks secure boot debug policy

The secure boot debug policy is basically a special secure boot policy that allows booting any OS on locked down Windows devices (phones, tablets...). It accidentally made its way into retail devices.

The article contains more information, namely, how Microsoft tried to patch it, and why backdoors are a bad idea.

There's also a part on the Surface -- more planned obsolescence. Oh, we aren't updating your Surface anymore, but we won't let you install another OS anyway because fuck you and because you're supposed to buy the latest toy instead.
