My brother made a Super Mario Sunshine hack but abondoned it, I have decided to revive it. :3

http://n-sms.proboards.com/index.cgi

Nothing is really possible yet besides Texture and Text Editing.

Sorry, it IS a proboards forum. ^^;

Moving this thread to the right place.

This seems interesting, but y'know, this board is about SMG1/2, so I won't be caring much about it...

Decent. I've been wanting to make hacks of Super Mario Sunshine all my life, and seeing this technology that allows us to hack these 3D based games instead of platformers is amazing.

Just to note, i'm closing the board, it is bad proboards crap when I can be using something professional like ABXD, however, A SMS Level Editor hasn't even been released. I'd be looking to make one, but levels would be only playable on dolphin and I know nothing about c#.

Well the part about C# isn't a limit when you're willing to learn :P

But yeah, you guys should probably not open boards about random games unless you know that tools exist for those games. ;)

You start, as for any programming language, by finding and following tutorials.

Are there any that you'd recommend?

Nope, because I mostly learn stuff on my own. However you can try googling, I'm sure there are some nice tutorials around.

I learned it myself by just trying and then searching msdn for how things work. Now (after like 2 years) I am a professional programmer.

Hacks made with that would be locked to Dolphin, unless you can somehow burn GC discs or run modified ISOs on a Gamecube.

But that doesn't exclude the possibility of an editor. See, SM64 hacks are pretty much locked to emulators and expensive flashcards, yet there is TT64.

But making a board when there's no tool is kinda silly. It'll die quick.

I think it's possible to run Gamecube ISO's on a softmodded Wii on Gamecube mode...
So yea running hacks on real hardware is possible.
(Well it's still like running a NSMB hack on a 3DS but it's still real hardware)

I meant, no tool in development. When the scene is basically just a bunch of happy people sharing their dreams and nothing else.
